The decision to move the venue was taken in the strangest way
Ian Henshall sent out an email in the morning giving a deadline of 3pm for people to reply if they objected.
This is not a fair way to make such a decision, particilarly as many people only check their emails in the evening and some don't for several days on end.
It did not in fact include the varous stakeholders, ie people who have put time and effort into the event in the decision.

This lack of democracy, information sharing and accountability has to be addressed.

Also at 1.46.28 a lady calls in from St Louis and makes some excellent points that directly challenge Hitchens' views on the Middle East and Hitchens doesn't answer her. He sidesteps completely by saying: "She's just making a statement. Now we know what she thinks." There's a pause, and then the interviewer just carries on to the next topic.

In July of last year, Hamas, the Palestinian Islamist group, organized a mass wedding celebration for hundreds of couples in the Gaza Strip. The happy adult grooms, immaculately dressed in black suits and colorful ties, received $500 each from Hamas, no small sum in the besieged territory.

It might have been a joyous event if not for the fact that the brides were "pre-pubescent girls, dressed in white gowns and adorned with garish make-up," according to the article written by author and journalist Paul L. Williams, and republished by right-wing pundit David Horowitz's Frontpage Magazine, who regularly appears on mainstream news networks such as Fox and CNN.

The photos show young girls holding hands with the grooms, and the article goes on to explain how pedophilia is inherent to Islam. It would have been a sordid tale were it not for the fact that the article is a hoax. The married couples were, in fact, consenting adults, but this did not stop the story from being widely disseminated via a vast network of web-based publications, blogs and mailing lists, and hundreds of readers left online comments.

The Internet is considered by many to be an information Wild West, where anyone can publish stories, often anonymously, and no matter how derogatory their opinions may be. False stories and hateful opinions about Muslims abound on the Internet and have begun to appear prominently in the mainstream discourse, said American Muslims and groups that monitor the media. Many worry that what one sociologist has termed "respectable racism" is having a corrosive effect on American society, and that hate expressed online has real-world implications. Right-wing, extremist ideology is now the most dangerous domestic terrorism threat in the United States, according to the US Department of Homeland Security.

"Islamaphobia has moved to the mainstream in the years following the 9/11 attacks," said Ibrahim Hooper, the national communications director for the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR), based in Washington, DC. "Things that would have been completely outside the pale, like a letter to the editor saying that Islam is intrinsically evil, that would have never been published before 9/11. Now it's published almost on a daily basis."

Public figures such as politicians and pundits have used their status in society to confer a certain degree of respectability to racist discourse, according to Canadian sociologist Rachad Antonius. He believes the negative connotations attached to being Arab in mainstream culture have made it acceptable to publicly stereotype or disparage Arabs.

There is, in any case, no law against expressing racist opinions or what many would consider to be hate speech.

"There is no particular definition of hate speech since we don't ban it," said Floyd Abrams, an attorney and expert on constitutional law. "We ban speech which constitutes an imminent threat of violence. We allow the marketplace of ideas to decide who is worthy of being credited with truthful information and who is not."

Racist opinions are being voiced loudly and publicly. Xenophobia was rife at the Tea Party convention in Nashville, Tennessee, February 4 to 6, where some speakers railed against multiculturalism, accusing immigrants of threatening Judeo-Christian values. Talk of "white culture" and chants of "Take it back!" are common at gatherings of Tea Party members, now a force to be reckoned with in American politics, and pundits such as Fox's Glenn Beck or Ann Coulter have helped stoke the flames.

A newspaper can be held liable for defamatory statements made by others within its pages. But the Communication Decency Act passed by Congress in 1996 offers protection to online publishers who put out content created by third parties.

The article alleging mass pedophile weddings took place in the Gaza Strip, "Hamas Plays Host to Pedophilia," was first published on Williams' web site thelastcrusade.org on August 7, 2009, and generated nearly 500 reader comments. It was republished in Frontpage Magazine, the online publication of conservative activist Horowitz.

Williams, an American Christian minister and author, has written extensively about Islam and terrorism. In his book "The Dunces of Doomsday," he claimed that lax security and Egyptian-born professors working at McMaster University's nuclear reactor in Hamilton, Canada, had led to the theft of more than 180 pounds of nuclear material to be used by terrorists in American cities. The university is suing Williams and has called the allegations false and defamatory.

Rachel Ehrenfeld defended Williams in an opinion piece in the Wall Street Journal on December 21, 2009, referring to the legal action as a "frivolous foreign libel" suit. This despite the fact that Williams' own publisher has issued a retraction, saying in a statement that the allegations about the university being infiltrated by terrorists and the theft of nuclear material were "without basis in fact."

Ironically, Williams claims on his web site and in numerous other online publications to have penned at least one feature article for the Wall Street Journal, but does not say when. Database searches going as far back as 1976 turned up nothing, and Timothy Lemmer of the Journal wrote me, "I don't see a 'Paul L. Williams' in our archive, searching by byline back to 1984."

He also claims to have been published in USA Today. Database searches did not turn up anything, and Michelle Poblete, the assistant reader editor, wrote me in an email, "I did a search in our archive, but I did not find any articles written by Paul L. Williams."

Williams said that he "served as a consultant on organized crime and international terrorism" for the FBI, though this could not be confirmed. Williams maintained that, for over a decade, he "has taught philosophy, religion, and the humanities at The University of Scranton and Wilkes University." Wilkes University has record of him working there one year, 1998, teaching philosophy, while The University of Scranton has record of him teaching an interdisciplinary class there 25 years ago, but could not say for how many years he was a professor.

Williams lifted the first few paragraphs and quotes of his article from an Agence France-Presse (AFP) article he did not write, "Hamas sponsors mass wedding in Gaza," published a week earlier on July 30, 2009. But he stopped plagiarizing when he reached the following phrase: "The 450 brides shared none of the glamour, taking seats among the audience of around 1,000 party guests: most couples had already taken part in religious ceremonies elsewhere, with more marriages planned for the next few days."

In his own article, Williams went on to explain how pedophilia is commonplace in Islam, basing his analysis on the traditions of the Middle Ages, and apparently unaware that marrying young, and what would be considered child abuse by modern standards, was a normal occurrence at the time in the ancient world of East and West.

The children holding the hands of the grooms at the celebration in Gaza were not their brides, as he alleged, but their relatives. This was confirmed by other news sources such as Sky News, a sister channel of Fox News. It was also not the first mass wedding to be organized by Hamas in Gaza, where the legal marrying age is 18 or 16 with parental permission if Egyptian Sharia law is followed.

Taghreed El-Khodary, who writes for The New York Times and is considered balanced even by conservative author and activist Daniel Pipes, covered a similar wedding for the paper on October 30, 2008.

"These kids on the stage are the nieces or sisters of the grooms," she said in an email, referring to the young girls in white dresses. "It is a mass wedding in conservative Gaza; hence brides are sitting with their families. It's a symbolic party to give credit to Hamas or whatever institution is funding it."

Williams and Horowitz did not respond to emailed inquiries about the article and requests for interviews.

Muslim groups and media watchdogs say that this is not a simple question of free speech, noting that people with radical views about Christianity, Judaism or Israel are not given prominent platforms on mainstream networks as is Horowitz.

"It's a double standard," said Ibrahim Hooper of the Council on American-Islamic Relations. "The media wouldn't bring on anti-Semites, neo-Nazis, overt racists, but they will bring on these Muslim-bashers or anti-Arab individuals. They shouldn't bring on anti-Semites or neo-Nazis, and I don't think they should have on these Muslim-haters either."

Norman Finkelstein, an American political scientist and author, has written extensively on the Israel-Palestine conflict. He is fiercely critical of Israeli policies toward the Palestinians, and his books have generated controversy as well as received praise from prominent historians and public intellectuals. Yet, he has never been invited to appear on a mainstream American network.

"I have never been on American television (not even the cable networks) and the only national radio program I have been on is Democracy Now!," he wrote in an email. "To my mind, the interesting fact is that not even liberal radio programs and moderators would have me on. It is for example unthinkable that I would be on a National Public Radio program. It's the usual stuff: career and funding."

Conservative groups are waging a war of ideas online with players such as Horowitz's Frontpage Magazine and Williams' thelastcrusade.org supplementing right-wing materials that are widely diffused via blogs, chat rooms, mailing lists and other web publications. This network has facilitated the free flow of ideas, and created virtual havens in which people vent their collective disillusionment or rage. But the connections made there have shifted from the virtual to the real world.

Elements of white nationalism are fusing with right wing ideology, as supremacist groups like the Council of Conservative Citizens and the National Socialist Movement have made inroads into mainstream culture by exploiting contentious issues such as the economy and immigration. The Tea Party movement may now be, by some accounts, one of the most potent political forces in America. What that will translate to in the future remains to be seen. But many Muslims and other minority groups are fearful.

"It has a very corrosive effect on our society," said Hooper of CAIR. "Whenever you legitimize, even through your silence, attacks on a religious or ethnic minority, we are all hurt by that. It's not something that helps our society in any way."

Not just the US, but here in the UK too. There seem to be an increasing amount of stories of CCTV cameras being installed in school toilets. The first story I came across was of a junior school in Norwich; the school had the convenient (no pun intended) excuse that the pupils had asked for cameras to be installed. This was juxtaposed against an anti-Orwellian Shami Chakrabarti quote which was effectively neutered.

Mr Holman said that �the pupils at the school saw that there was available space on the security system operating in the school and asked whether TV cameras could be installed. It's just to cover the sink areas in order to prevent further vandalism to the toilets which they are so proud of.�

School principal Terry Wales told Sky News: "It's to safeguard our youngsters, many schools are using cameras now.

"We had a parents' forum last night, we explained the arrangements and the parents were satisfied.

"We've found that when it comes to health and safety, children want to feel secure."

But privacy campaigners warned about the psychological effects of the feeling of being watched, even if cameras are not switched on.

Dylan Sharpe from Big Brother Watch told Sky News: "Children are entitled to privacy like anyone else.

"We're raising a generation of children accustomed to being constantly watched and monitored, whether cameras are switched on or not."

Grace Academy already has 26 CCTV cameras watching other parts of the school.

The incident is the latest row to erupt between schools and parents who are concerned about safeguarding their children's privacy.

Last year police were called to a school in Salford after parents were horrified to discover children had been filmed changing into their PE kit.

Although the footage was not misused, police seized the film after negotiating with the school. [Er... why ]

In 2007 it was revealed schools had fingerprinted thousands of primary school children without their parent's consent.

The Department for Children, Schools and Families later ruled that if schools want to obtain and store biometric data from children, consent is not required from parents.

Exactly. Hitchens seems unaware of such a contradiction. Although he's English, Hitchens has spent most of his adult life in America and is now a naturalized US citizen; in fact later in the interview the programme does a tour of his Washinton flat. He says that it was the 9/11 attacks that changed his life and made him see things the way he does today. His reaction is typical of the traumatizing that many people suffered as a result of the event. We all know that fear and trauma can make us blind, blind to reason and morality.

This is the edited news package from ABC

It places Loose Change at the centre of the Truth Movement. The reporter makes some outrageous comments about the arguments in Loose Change being disproven eg: controlled demolition, which is totally out of order.

The mainstream media is totally freaked out by the growth of 9/11 Truth and does not know how to deal with us?

The government proposes to reduce that to 20 years and has tabled an amendment to the constitutional reform and governance bill to that effect.

Lord Lester said he "greatly welcomes" the change and hopes it becomes law before parliament goes into recess.

He questioned why the minister has rejected the need for extra resources to ensure the process will run smoothly.

Lord Bach said the bill is still before the Lords "so we will see what happens to it".

An impact assessment said the change will cost �50m to �80m over a ten year transition period, he told peers.

Lord Morgan (Lab) complained that the 30 year rule is already ignored by former ministers writing memoirs and that holding documents back contradicts the government's commitment to freedom of information.

Lord Bach said reducing the release date to 20 years would result in increased transparency and accountability.

He said the publication of memoirs by former ministers and others have been the subject of two recent reviews.

Lord Wallace (Lib Dem) said papers relating to defence, international relations and the economy are not covered by the current 30 year rule.

He asked if the government is concerned that the release of papers from 1910 might harm relations with Germany.

Lord Bach said it is "not quite as easy as that" and the exemptions under section 23, namely the security agencies and SOCA, do allow public interest releases.

However, papers that prejudice international relations or prevent the detection of crime will continue to be exempted from automatic release.

judy wood doesn't have any clear ideas herself about the nature of this alleged "directed energy weapon" - but she does think it was fired from outer space - so referring to it as a space beam or moon beam or whatever is perfectly legitimate....

NO ONE ELSE has submitted legal action based on the PHYSICAL EVIDENCE which they claim is valid.

1000 architects and engineers ASK SOMEONE ELSE to do an enquiry? CAN'T THEY DO IT THEMSELVES? Amazing!!

The topic of Dr. Wood and her thorough research should be something that is enthusiastically discussed and considered by our community, not dismissed as irrelevant or crazy talk. Her claims are evidence-based and she provides all the evidence you need on her website, with sources and references to back it all up.

This makes her conclusion just as viable and scientific as Dr. Jones's theory, but the difference in their conclusions is that only Dr. Wood's conclusion can account for ALL of the evidence and ALL of the anomalies observed at ground zero. We should be discussing these things, not fighting about them.... we should be considering Dr. Wood's theory, not calling it crazy or impossible...

Dr. Wood has never said that the DEW had to be in space. It is very possible that some type of electromagnetic energy device could be used to create an energy Field of specific wave length and frequency in the ground zero area, and then use that Field to generate an effect to cause the molecular dissociation of the steel and concrete components.

Although I admit it is possible that a DEW could have done this from space, it is important to point out that Dr. Wood does not theorize about where this weapon is or what it is exactly, she simply uses evidence, observes anomalies, and arrives at the inescapable conclusion that explains all of this evidence and anomalies. Nothing but a Directed Energy Weapon of some kind could explain all of the anomalies observed, especially the 1400+ cars that were toasted during the attacks despite no flaming debris ever falling on them.

judy wood believes that whatever fired the unspecified beam of whatever that she imagines has destroyed the WTC was orbiting the earth at the time - so I think it's fair game to refer to it as a moonbeam....

what's predictable is that the OP is just the same old tosh which has already been posted over and over again. and as every aspect of it has already been shown to be garbage over and over again (on multiple threads in the "controversies" section), it's basically just an example of trolling.

what exactly is the point of starting not one but two threads about a topic that's already been covered ad nauseam - neither of which contain anything new?

In this forum I saw no mentioning of Dr. Wood, so that is why I posted. Had I seen a Dr. Wood thread, I would have simply commented or contributed to that thread. I did not see the information posted, so I felt like I needed to share it with the readers here.

Yes, I was partially posting this as a test, but also I was posting it to get the information out there.

Dr. Wood's conclusion is the only conclusion I have ever studied that actually explains ALL the evidence and ALL the anomalies near ground zero, including the 1400+ toasted cars, the countless flipped cars, the electrical-like burns, the oddly bent and twisted metal, the selective dustification of steel and concrete, and much more. In fact, many of the anomalies observed at Ground Zero I was not even aware of until I started looking more into Dr. Wood's research.

I admit that it is possible that nano-thermite could have been used in combination with a DEW, but this is very unlikely, because it seems unnecessary and seemed that it would have generated too much molten steel to keep hidden and censored. I also will admit that it is very possible that the Dr. Jones, Harris, et. al paper could be a fabricated study meant to purposely mislead the 9/11 Truth Movement away from the truth about DEWs and Free Energy, to send us chasing a nano-thermite ghost. This would severely delay and inhibit the 9/11 Truth Movement, so we must consider Dr. Wood's theory very seriously.

I am a very honest person, and for that reason I will admit that yes, it is POSSIBLE that Dr. Wood could be disinfo, but in all honesty, she has shown me more human compassion and friendliness than any truther I have ever met. She has answered my emails diligently, usually within 48 hours of sending it, she has answered all of my questions personally, no matter how meticulous or redudant they have been, and she has predicted the occurrence of several events, for example, me being blacklisted and ignored by Richard Gage and Dr. Jones.

In addiiton, Dr. Wood already had filed legal Qui-Tam whistleblower cases in 2007, one of which made it all the way to the Supreme Court! I could not believe that I had not heard about her legal cases before, especially since Dr. Jones and Richard Gage should have been supporting her legal cases and spreading the word about them, if they truly wanted to bring forth a new and successful investigation. Even if they do not agree on her theory, the legal case is an entirely differnet story, and the fact that both of them did not support her case, and bad-mouthed her while the case was running, really concerned me. One would think that Dr. Jones and Richard Gage could set aside their differences and support Dr. Wood's legal case for the purpose of bringing out the truth and justice, but instead, Dr. Jones bad mouths her and Richard Gage removes me from his petition just for asking him about her in a private email.

All signs so far point to Richard Gage and Dr. Jones being disinfo, and no signs at all have pointed Dr. Wood as the disinfo agent. I first was skeptical of her, but my skepticism is now growing for Dr. Jones and Richard Gage. Also, she claims to have had many threats on her health and life and career, but as far as I know, Richard Gage and Dr. Jones have never been threatened.

For me it isn't just a matter of proof of whether or not DEW exist. It's about the fact that the so called evidence of them being used, ie the "evidence" used by Wood/Johnson just does not stand up to scrutiny.

This is an interesting case in point to use. A lot of Christians on this site could link to many articles and pdf's which they believe could prove the case that the world is 6,000 years old. Just as you have done to prove that DEW exist.

I myself have checked the evidence on this subject many times over and in my lay-opinion it just doesn't work for me.

To be honest, most of Judy's research is simply examining evidence. Rarely is speculation involved. She uses hundreds and hundreds of photographs, many from Congressional libraries and FEMA data bases, to examine anomalies observed on or around ground zero. She uses these anomalies to eliminate theories that do not account for them. In the end, only one theory can account for ALL the anomalies observed at ground zero. Some of these anomalies are: flipped cars several blocks away from ground zero, 1400+ cars that were mysteriously burnt and toasted even though they were many blocks away from ground zero, steel and concrete were selectively pulverized to dust while aluminum and paper were left unharmed, giant pieces of steel and metal were observed to be bent in very mysterious ways similar to the focused electromagnetic energy effect known as The Hutchinson Effect, several cars set on fire but the surrounding paper is not on fire, and much much more.

That is fine that you feel that way Ian, but unfortunately AE911Truht encourages ALL people to sign their petition, even non-students. Since they allow ANYONE to sign their petition, you would think having a trained biologist and medical doctor in training would only add further support to their cause. It blows my mind that after donating much time, energy, and finances to Richard Gage and his organization, that he never replied to any of my emails, not even ONCE, and he silently removed me from the petition within 48 hours of asking him, in a private email, if he had heard of Dr. Wood, and if he would look into her research so that they could work together to more effectively bring forth Justice. I am very skeptical of Mr. Gage after being ignored by him and then removed from the petition. Very concerning to me.
