More good stuff from the bishop
Ready for Mother's day in a fortnight on Sunday 18th March.

Remembrance

There's magic in a Mother's touch,
And sunshine in her smile.
There's love in everything she does
To make our lives worthwhile.

We can find both hope and courage
Just by looking in her eyes.
Her laughter is a source of joy,
Her words are warm and wise.

There is a kindness and compassion
To be found in her embrace,
And we see the light of heaven
Shining from a Mother's face.

By email:

There is no question or doubt about the validity of Montague Summers' Holy Orders. The questions and doubts only arise about Summers himself.
He is reported to have invited his long-time friend, the poet John Redwood-Anderson, to observe a Black Mass in 1908; and according to Redwood, at least, Summers demonstrated to him the peculiar ability to recite the Pater Noster in reverse in Latin.
Summers unquestionably had, and indeed exhibited, a morbid fascination with evil, but did he really engage in a Black Mass? Geoffrey Evans Pickering (who wrote on ballet for the London press under the pseudonym Anatole James) claims that he participated in a Black Mass at his residence on Eton Road, Hampstead, on Boxing Day of 1918 with Montague Summers also in attendance.
I am quite prepared to believe that Summers was involved in occult practices between 1908 and 1918, but evidently abandoned them at some point between 1918 and 1923 when he also severed his friendship with Evans Pickering.
Something, I posit, occurred which so terrified Summers that it compelled him to turn against his former ways and lent the fervour of a reformed sinner to his published attacks on all things occult, commencing with the 1926 publication of "The History of Witchcraft and Demonology."

TonyGosling wrote:

The Reverend Montague Summers told me of an exorcism he had performed in Ireland. He was called to a farmer's wife who, it was said, was possessed by an evil spirit. He arrived in the evening. On the table in the living room the remains of a cold leg of mutton had already been placed for supper; the woman was in the same room. At the sight of a priest she became so violent that she had to be held down. As he sprinkled the Holy Water on her and commanded the demon to come forth, a small cloud of black smoke issued from her foam-flecked mouth. It went straight into the cold mutton, and within a few minutes everyone present saw that the meat was alive with maggots.
Few men had more knowledge of the Occult than Montague Summers, and his books upon Witchcraft and Were wolves are classics. But he was, to say the least of it, a curious character. Rumour has it that he was not, in fact, a priest.
My wife and I went to stay at his house for a weekend. On the ceiling of our bedroom we found a score of enormous spiders. When I mentioned this, he replied only, 'I like spiders'; and in his garden my wife came upon the biggest toad she has ever seen. He tried to sell me a rare book. When I refused to buy it, I have never seen such malefic anger come into the eyes of any man. We made an excuse to leave on Sunday morning. .
With his long silver locks and, normally, benign expression, he looked like a Restoration Bishop. Years later I used his physical appearance for Canon Copely-Syle in To the Devil - a Daughter. For that I had a precedent, as in Mr. Somerset Maugham's early book The Magician the sorcerer, Hado, bears a striking resemblance to Aleister Crowley.
Mentioning books reminds me of A. E. W. Mason's Prisoner in the Opal. In it, he rightly associates the presence of the most powerful evil entities with intense cold. Dante's lowest circle in Hell was formed of ice.
I do not regard myself as psychic but I have once felt that terrifying chill. I was building a shack by moonlight in an old walled garden behind the Somme battlefield. It came upon me without rhyme or reason. I knew that something incredibly evil was watching me from behind - and it had suddenly become very cold. After a minute that seemed an eternity I panicked and fled in abject terror.
All this adds up to the fact that one cannot laugh off the Supernatural, and that like everything else in the Universe it is governed by definite laws. To utilise those laws for personal ends is to practise the Black Art. And it is still practised in England today.
One of the doctors who gave evidence before the B.M.A. Committee of Inquiry into faith healing stated that Black as well as White Magic is still widely practised in Devonshire; and that among his patients he had had one definite death caused by Witchcraft. That is something to give pause for thought to those readers who will this summer be motoring through Devon's lovely lanes.

Hillary & Bill Clinton, up to their necks in occult, multiple 'strange deaths' and drugs:
http://www.theconspiracyzone.org/posts/21099

'To understand why Hillary Clinton will never be President all you have to do is understand the Illuminati powers in charge that not only control Hillary Clinton (See our article:The illuminati, who are they, what do they want”), but control and manipulate ALL the candidates.

To start with, even though Hillary is an Illuminati herself, she still answers to more powerful factions. The most powerful illuminists are racist pigs and don’t like women or minorities in places of power. Occasionally, they will be put in places of power but only to be used as pawns for another agenda. Also, Hillary has too many skeletons in too many closets. While Bill Clinton was President over 61 deaths happened to people directly linked to the Clintons. We have included the Clinton “body count” at the end of this article. Not only have over 60 people associated with them died under mysterious circumstances but 12 body guards assigned to protect the Clintons died as well.

Hillary Clinton is considered a Grande Dame in occult circles and as far as occult power goes, she outranks Bill Clinton. She is also a known Lesbian who has taken male hormones which she thinks will put her on a even keel with her “male” competition, pictured here with her most recent lover, Mossad Agent Huma Abedin: (pictured below) Hillary is known by people close to her as an extremely angry and volatile person with a hot temper. She once hit Bill Clinton in the head with an ash tray while aboard Air Force One and Bill required stitches....'

Grand Dame Hildabeast (http://www.snopes.com/politics/clintons/hildabeast.asp) does a bit of 'dabbling':

(BELOW) Here is one of Hillary Clinton’s rallies from her own website where she has inverted the stars on the U.S. flag to resemble the satanic Aleister Crowley inspired goats head of mendes.(make sure to read our report on: Mr. Crowley, the most wicked man that ever lived still speaks from the grave.) Note: The stars on the flag are upside down, 2 points up, 1 point down. (click to enlarge)

http://www.theconspiracyzone.org/posts/21099

Here is the satanic goats head which is what followers of the occult and Aleister Crowley wear to symbolize their allegiance to Lucifer. Note: 2 points up 1 point down.

Here is how the stars are supposed to be on the U.S. flag. Note: 1 point up, 2 points down.

Sorry I can't put the flag pic up, but it's on the 'conspiracy zone' link above; this really is pretty damning evidence of her 'Luciferianism'.

The Republican Logo swapped from right up stars to inverted stars in 2000...

http://weburbanist.com/2010/11/07/political-animal-the-ever-evolving-r epublican-elephant-logo/

Quote:
A curious point in the Republican Elephant’s evolution occurred in the year 2000 during the first year of George W. Bush’s administration. With virtually no notice and little if any subsequent explanation, the 3 stars in the GOP Elephant logo were inverted so that they now stood points down....

Certain political bloggers and conspiracy theorists have had a field day with the so-called “satanic” new logo that seemingly swapped its stars for devilish pentagrams. Does the Tea Party know about this? Maybe the RNC is in league with the Prince Of Darkness – the other one, not Dick Cheney. Most likely, though, the decision to flip the stars and otherwise adjust the proportions of the classic GOP logo were made ad hoc by the graphics firm charged with the task of making the logo more digital-friendly. Sure, that’s what happened, move along now, nothing to see here.

Interesting, good ol' 'Bonesman Temporary' switches the stars, eh?
I'm surprised more hasn't been made of this.

But to mess with the flag, that's something else.

8 rules of satanism
Some more on occultism from a former witch queen and expanding the idea that there IS a rather larger than we would like to think network of secret societies in Britain

From Witchcraft To Christ
Doreen Irvine
Kingsway (1994)
ISBN 0-85476-507-7

We are here to promote Satan on the earth whenever and however we can."
He had a strong personality and had no difficulty in persuading me to become a Satanist. I was taught that evil ¬as most people think of evil - is not wrong, but right and good. It sounded stupid to me, as indeed it is, but I started to believe it.
The Satanists twisted and distorted everything. A lie, I was told, was in fact the truth. All very confusing, but many believed it - even intelligent people. It was a kind of brain¬washing. If you are told the same thing over and over again, you finally come to believe it, no matter how stupid it sounds.
My friendship with the chief Satanist grew. I attended all the meetings at the temple minus blindfolds or secrecy. I was eager to become a full-fledged Satanist.
Taking that awful step was not simple. One has to learn the rules of Satanism and believe everyone of them utterly. These are samples of the rules I had to accept and learn:
1. Secrecy is the keynote for all Satanists. They must never reveal the whereabouts of the temples to an outsider or the things that go on inside the temple.
2. All must love, honour, and obey without question the chief Satanist, who is Lucifer's representative on the earth. Satanists must follow Satan all the days of their life and serve no other but him.
3. Satanists must never enter a Christian church unless sent in to spy by the chief Satanist. All new ideas and fresh happenings are to be reported back in full to the chief Satanist at the temple of Satan.
4. Satanists must never read the Holy Bible for their own edification.
5. The Holy Scriptures are to be mocked and burned in the Satanists' temple, also prayer books and hymn books - in fact, all Christian literature must be destroyed. (This order dates back centuries. In contrast, various old writings by ancient chiefs are carefully preserved. Revelations from Hades, demons, and gods are often read in ritual worship in the temples of Satan.) .
6. No one must arrive late at the temple. Punishment by whipping will be carried out on all latecomers by the chief Satanist in front of the whole congregation.
7. Lucifer must be highly esteemed in all situations, even while at work or in private. Lucifer sees, as he is with Satan¬ists always, and he must be obeyed. Lying, cheating, swear¬ing, free lust - even murder - are condoned.
8. Prayer to Lucifer must be made daily.
There are many more rules, and all who fail to obey them are punished by whipping in front of all Satanists at the I temple. The whippings are carried out by the chief Satanist himself.

I soon learned the rules. Furthermore, I fully believed. them.
The chief Satanist was by this time a regular visitor to the strip club, where I still worked. I was now his mistress. He would bring with him my supply of heroin and would accept no payment.
"It's a gift," he would say.
Some gift.
My addiction to hard drugs was just an extra one-way ticket to hell, yet drug addiction, stripping, etc. seemed to pale compared with Satan worship.
I asked no questions about the source of drugs. Although I was now his mistress, the chief Satanist didn't care about my prostitution. He believed the more evil he condoned or achieved on earth, the greater would be his reward. If and when he died, he believed he would be in charge of legions of devils, so the greater the evil, the greater the reward.
One day he informed me, "You are now ready to become a sworn-in child of Lucifer."
The ceremony would be complicated and lengthy. Many Satanists would be present, Satanists from other temples in England. When the time came around, about eight hundred or more Satanists were present, all punctual, since none were ever late for any meeting.

WHITE AND BLACK MAGIC
Dennis Wheatley
The Devil is just round the corner, and he is watching you. Don't you believe that? There are a lot of people who do, and some of them, even in this country, still participate in abominable rites for the purpose of courting his favour.
If you do not believe that the Devil is interested in you, then you do not believe in God, without Whose knowledge, so the Bible tells us, not a sparrow falls. You cannot believe in one and not the other.
In the beginning Lucifer, to give the Devil his personal name, was an Archangel. His pride and ambition caused him to become the leader of the first revolution. God gave St. Michael command of the loyal angels. There was a tremendous battle and Michael's angels drove Lucifer and his angels out of Heaven down to Earth. That is why the Devil is known as 'The Lord of This World'.
That, too, is why, when our Lord Jesus Christ was on earth, the Devil was able to take Him up into a High Place and offer Him dominion over the fair cities and fruitful plains. To deny that the Temptation occurred is to deny a fundamental tenet of the Christian religion.
In the Middle Ages it was not uncommon for people to report that the Devil had appeared to them. In those days everyone's mind was dominated by religion. Most people attended two services on Sundays, fasted on Fridays and were present at family prayers morning and evening. They had no holidays other than Saints' days and going on a pilgrimage;. they went regularly to confession and, for even the smallest sin, had to perform a penance. For them Heaven and Hell were vivid realities and, as life was cheap, they might find themselves pitchforked into one or the other with little warning. So it is not surprising that the more imaginative sometimes 'saw things'. We may, therefore, put down most of these reported 'visions' as the product of an empty stomach upon an empty brain. But not all.
Not, that is, if we can believe the late Aleister Crowley, who once assured me that it is perfectly possible to raise - he did not say the Devil, but that was what he meant.
Of course, it is not suggested that the mighty Lucifer ..... who is second only in power to the Lord God Himself appears to people in person. But each of us has a Guardian Angel, and it is his opposite number, a creature of the Devil's charged with our undoing, who, in exceptional circumstances, may become visible to human eyes.
The form in which such evil entities materialise is naturally that expected of them. Hence the fire-breathing horrors with horns, cloven hoofs and spiked tail which appeared to people in the Middle Ages, and that in Crowley's case it was that of Pan - the coldly evil Greek horned-god whom he had deliberately conjured up.
Why, you may ask, are people rarely troubled by such supernatural visitors in these days? The answer is that life is infinitely more complex, and the modem mind occupied by such things as politics, sport, the cinema, travel, broadcasts, the constant change in the fashions of clothes, and so on to the exclusion of religion. They are no longer interested in either saints or demons.
But do not suppose that, for that reason, the Devil no longer exists. As part of the original Creation he is immortal. Being no fool he has adapted himself to modem conditions and gone underground.
It is with good reason that one of his names is 'Lord of Misrule'. God's wish, clearly manifested in the teachings of Jesus Christ, is that we should avoid all cause for quarrels and so lead peaceful orderly lives. The Devil's province is to make us do the opposite. By luring individuals into sin he can break up families; by fostering trade disputes he can cause conditions which. ultimately lead to poverty and crime; by arousing the passions of nations he can cause war.
From the beginning of time he has made tools of the greedy, the discontented and the ambitious, stimulating them by the temptation of power to sabotage peace, prosperity and good stable government. Can anyone maintain that he has been idle during the past half century?
These subtle and ubiquitous activities apart, the Devil still plays an active role in the lives of quite a number of people. It is a fact that any day in a bus or a train YOU may be sitting opposite to a man or woman who has made a pact with Satan, or been sold to him.
In the introduction to Story IV 'A Life for a Life' I have already mentioned the case of the Essex woman who was' sold as a child to the Devil; and as 'Lord of this World' the Devil does not, of course, confine his attention to Christian people. As an example there is the case of the young Australian aboriginal, Lyn Wulumu, which was recently featured in the Press.
His mother-in-law wanted him out of the way so she 'sung him the song of the dreamtime snake'. When this is done by a votary of Satan a dream-snake coils itself round the body of the victim and gradually crushes him until he can no longer breathe. Lyn Wulumu, unquestionably a dying man, was flown down by the Methodist Mission to Darwin Hospital. Four doctors could find nothing whatever wrong with him physically, but they put him in an iron lung; his life was saved and it is now reported that he has regained the will to live.
My books with occult backgrounds have brought me many hundreds of letters from all parts of the world upon similar subjects. Scores of them are, of course, from people with bees in their bonnets; but with some knowledge of such matters it is not difficult to sort the wheat from he chaff, and many are from doctors, magistrates and clergymen vouching for their personal knowledge of happenings impossible to explain except as the result of witchcraft.
The fact is that, although unrealized by most Europeans, in every great city, in the jungles of Africa, the villages of Asia, the plantations of the West Indies, and even in some remote hamlets of our own countryside. Satanism is still practised.
The dual principle of Good and Evil, which is the basis of every religion, must continue in perpetual conflict until the end of time. On the Right hand we have light, warmth, growth and order; on the Left hand, darkness, cold, decay and chaos.
Each of us, having within us a part of the eternal Spirit, is able at will to communicate with the Higher Powers and draw down from them additional power to ourselves. The Saints did so by prayer to God, which enabled them to perform their miracles. The Devil may be found even quicker to answer.
As a young officer in the 1914-18 war, while convalescing, I, played a lot of vingt-et-un. After one ten-hour session, having become bored from drawing few cards worth betting upon, on the bank passing to me, I called on the Devil to give me luck. I drew two aces, doubled the table, drew another ace, split three times and finished with two naturals and a five and under. Everyone paid me sixteen times his original stake.
That shook the other chaps at the table; but it shook me infinitely more, as, sooner or later, that sort of 'luck' has to be paid for.
I have never prayed to the Devil since. Neither have I ever attended any form of magical ceremony or a séance. It is obviously such a fascinating game that even the strongest-willed person could easily get drawn further and further into it until - well, there are several very real dangers. The least is that one might find oneself being blackmailed for taking part in obscene practices. The worst, failure to pull out in time, with the realization that one had imperilled one's immortal soul. There is also the risk of slipping up in some ritual, with consequent failure to keep under control the forces one has called up. The result of that used to be called demonic possession. It is now classed as lunacy. One of Crowley's occult 'operations' misfired; so that he was found next morning a gibbering idiot, and had to spend six months in an asylum.
By prayer, fasting, and mortification of the flesh, the Saints called down power in order that they might perform miracles to the glorification of God, and heal the sick. This, the use of Supernatural Power for good or unselfish ends, is WHITE MAGIC.
The use of Supernatural Power for wicked or selfish ends is BLACK MAGIC. Such magic is of the Devil and can be obtained only by such sexual depravity and bestial rites as are described in the official reports of the initiation ceremonies of the Mau Mau.
Yet it is not only in Africa that such abominations are practised. A few years ago women were giving themselves up to hideous eroticism with a great carved ebony figure, during Satanic orgies held in a secret temple in Bayswater, London, W.2.

THE BLACK ART AND THE SUPERNATURAL
Dennis Wheatley
Perhaps the most interesting man I met while collecting data for my novels with occult backgrounds was Mr. Rollo Ahmed. He was an advanced practitioner of Yoga and made good use of it. Although a native of the West Indies he never wore an overcoat and used to go about London in the winter in a thin cotton suit. One night, when it was well below freezing, he arrived to dine with me. He had no gloves but his hands were as warm as toast.
Rollo Ahmed was deeply versed in magical lore and possessed the gift of explaining it with great lucidity. From him I learnt much of the theory of the Black Art. Briefly it may be defined as a system of short cuts to obtaining Power.
Anyone can say prayers, or think evil. God will give new strength and fortitude in answer to prayer. The Devil will give strength and resolution actually to perform the evil deed contemplated. However, the human brain resembles a radio set. It needs tuning in to get the best results.
In very early times ways were discovered of 'tuning in' more rapidly. The holy used fasting and mortification of the flesh; the unholy gross indulgence and sexual depravity. Hence the wild orgies which are a main feature of every Satanic gathering - both ancient and modern.
It was also found that contact could be more swiftly achieved by the use of certain material aids. For example, the Clairvoyant does not actually see things in the crystal. It is a device to induce self-hypnotism and turn the mind inward so that it can pick up occult vibrations. To achieve this state practitioners of the Black Art consume potions composed of the vilest secretions of the human body. The Mau Mau do this; so, too, do the depraved followers of the Devil's cult who still live in our midst. Such acts may be compared to the ringing of a bell which summons a super¬natural Power.
SUPERNATURAL is simply a word to express that which lies beyond our comprehension, and MAGIC the procuring of a result normally regarded as impossible by the accepted ‘LAWS' of cause and effect. In the MATERIAL sphere the MAGIC of yesterday becomes the SCIENCE of today; but there remain innumerable NATURAL LAWS which are not yet generally understood. That applies particularly to the ability of certain humans to call upon forces of a SPIRITUAL nature; and since all spiritual power emanates from either God or the Devil those who employ them become priests and priestesses of either Good or Evil.
The good 'priest' uses supernatural power for unselfish ends; and the most common forms of his activities are 'paintaking' and faith healing. A recent inquiry by the British Medical Association has revealed that this type of White Magic is widely practised all over Britain. The investigators admit that warts can be charmed away, and can offer no explanation for that. Concerning more important cures, brought about by prolonged prayer, their report states:
'In the Committee's opinion it is probably better to acknowledge that the cures are at present inexplicable on scientific grounds.'
In this connection I had first-hand knowledge of an extraordinary happening while staying with my sister-in-law in South Africa. Her old negro cook, Maria, complained of acute pains in the breast and displayed to her an ugly tumour. Maria was at once taken down to the hospital. After examining her, the doctor put her in the waiting-room then, just outside its door, told my sister-in-law that the tumour was an advanced cancer and that it must be cut out without delay. An hour later he telephoned to ask where Maria was. She had disappeared.
Ten days later she returned with not a trace of the tumour. When asked for an explanation she said: 'I hears what that white doctor says to you, Missis, 'bout cuttin' me up. I's scared, so I slips off back to ma Kraal. The black doctor, he throws the bones for me and I's well again now.'
Another supernatural potential of the human mind which has now been recognized by the medical profession is Hypnotism. Yet no doctor can explain how it is possible for a subject to be made so iron rigid that his neck can be placed on one chair-back, his feet on another, and the hypnotist be able to kneel on the subject's stomach without his body even bending. .
The French psychologist, Pierre Janet, has even succeeded in hypnotising a patient at a distance of over a mile, at a time known only to the experimenters. That brings us to Mental Telepathy, of which countless people have had personal experience. Such happenings used to be put down to coincidence; but a few years ago Dr. Soal, by infinitely patient and prolonged tests, proved the case for telepathy conclusively. And Water Divining - a common and valuable practice - what explanation can science give for that?
Turning to more sensational manifestations of the supernatural, many people have been saved from death by warnings of an occult nature. One of the most intriguing is that which was vouched for by the late Lord Dufferin and Ava.
While staying in a house in Ireland, one night before getting into bed he looked out of the window. Below him in the bright moonlight he saw a man carrying a coffin. The man looked up; his face was striking and most unpleasant. Next morning no one in the house could offer any explanation of this extraordinary occurrence. Years later, Lord Dufferin was in Paris. He was about to enter an already crowded hotel lift. Suddenly he recognized the face of the lift attendant as that of the ghoul with the coffin. Startled, he stepped back. The man slammed the lift gates and up went the lift. At the third floor the cable broke. It crashed to the basement and everyone in it, including the lift man, was killed.
Many people will swear to having seen a ghost; but proof of the actual materialization of a spirit is very difficult to obtain. Personally, I am prepared to take the word of that great seeker after Truth, Harry Price. He carried out countless tests of reported psychic phenomena and ruthlessly ex¬posed scores of fake mediums; but he told me once that there could be no possible explanation, other than a supernatural one, for the appearances of Rosalie.
Every conceivable check to prevent fraud was taken. Yet on using his luminous plaque he saw this little naked girl standing in front of him; and having felt her all over would have sworn - but for the low temperature of her flesh - to her being a living child.
It was Harry Price who told me of a strange haunting in Sussex. One bedroom in this old house was so badly haunted that even the most sceptical visitors woke in it to find themselves being strangled; and any food left in a semi-basement room became putrid within a few hours. An exorcist was called in. The exorcism was carried out just before dawn in the bedroom. A ball, seemingly composed of black smoke and about the size of a football, appeared, rolled downstairs, out through the window of the semi-basement room and across the lawn to disappear in a small lake. The lake was later dredged and no less than three skeletons were brought up from it.

More from the great lady Doreen Irvine

From Spiritual warfare: The mystery of iniquity revealed
by former UK witch queen Doreen Irvine

Until the middle of the 19th century, witchcraft and devil worship seemed to have taken a back seat. Although it was still going on behind the scenes, more attention and interest was given to new scientific discoveries.

In 1951 however, the English courts repealed the country's witchcraft act, a law almost forgotten since 1735. Although to most people this seemed insignificant, it proved a major breakthrough to those who practised witchcraft. What had previously been done in secret now became more open, apart from the activities of the black witches, who for the most part prefer to remain secret.

There are many thousands involved in some form of occultism. In 1980 there were an estimated twenty million people in Europe alone. Judging from the increased interest in these things, the number may well have doubled by now.

In my first book From Witchcraft to Christ (Concordia 1973), I described much of what went on in the satanist temples, but much was omitted, which I now feel should be exposed. The temples of Satan were mostly situated in large houses which belonged to the richer members of the movement. Walls were torn down inside the houses to provide space for at least 400 worshippers. The temples were never left unattended; some satanists were always in residence to guard the temple from outsiders, and to care for the upkeep of the temple and its contents.

The walls were covered with effigies of Satan, half man, half beast, with cloven hoofs and horns, protruding tongue and ears. Satan can take on any form satanists wish. There are no seats for worshippers. Satanists were there an hour before any ceremony began, no-one was late. If you were late and did not give a very good reason, you were punished by whipping. When you worshipped the devil you stood for hours with arms upraised, or you prostrated yourself on the floor, which was usually made of marble, and engraved with snakes, dragons and flames of fire. On the high altar were cups, knives, bowls, snuffers and candlesticks all made from solid gold and silver. At the side of the altar was a throne-like seat, where the chief satanist sat. The throne itself was carved with expert skill and cunning, with snakes, dragons and flames of fire. The chief satanist's robes were made from the very best black velvet, and embroidered in gold threads with the same snakes, dragons and flames. All this work must have taken a great deal of time and money, but satanists spare no time or expense. There is nothing cheap or imitative in the satanist temples, but in fact, it is all an imitation of what God has. Take the satanist bible for instance. Because God has a book, the Bible, the devil has to have one. They call it the satanist's bible; I prefer to call it an evil book. It is a very poor imitation indeed, since it is filled with evil revelations from former chief priests, which date back over centuries. Here again, no expense was spared for the upkeep of these ancient manuscripts; each one was beautifully bound with gold. No-one could remove them from the temples, except for the chief satanist. Their main teaching, regarding the origin and fall of Satan, has already been described. They also teach that black is white and white is black; that good is evil and evil is good; and that light is darkness and darkness light. Everything is twisted round the opposite way. No matter how stupid this teaching sounds, many believe it; I did once.

When you are repeatedly told the same thing, over and over again, you begin to believe it; it is just like a massive brain-washing. We get a very clear picture of witchcraft and satanism from Isaiah 5:20: "Woe to those who call evil good and good evil, who put darkness for light and light for darkness, who put bitter for sweet and sweet for bitter. " When I first saw this in the Bible, I was surprised, and showed it to other Christians who were most enlightened by it; it exposes witchcraft and satanism very well indeed.

The satanist book is six times thicker than the average Bible, yet I was able to learn it by heart in a very short time.

8 rules of satanism
Some more on occultism from a former witch queen and expanding the idea that there IS a rather larger than we would like to think network of secret societies in Britain

The Occult is alive and 'well' (-entrenched)!! in the US Military. Is it any wonder that around the world, US Military are known for paedophilia?
Is Abu Ghraib, Bagram & Gitmo surprising? Are 'False Flag' ops, and brutal 'Mind Control' trauma to children on US bases surprising?
Is it any wonder that Ayatollah Khomeini called the US 'the Great Satan'?

Satanic subversion of the U.S. Military
by Jeffrey Steinberg:

http://www.theforbiddenknowledge.com/hardtruth/satanic_subversion.htm

'Just who is Lt. Col. Michael Aquino (ret.), and what does the evidence revealed in a Nebraska court hearing say about the current state of affairs inside the U.S. military? Is the Aquino case some kind of weird aberration that slipped off the Pentagon radar screen?

Not in the least.

Aquino, Satan and the U.S. military

Throughout much of the 1980s, Aquino was at the center of a controversy involving the Pentagon's acquiescence to outright Satanic practices inside the military services. Aquino was also a prime suspect in a series of pedophile scandals involving the sexual abuse of hundreds of children, including the children of military personnel serving at the Presidio U.S. Army station in the San Francisco Bay Area. Furthermore, even as Aquino was being investigated by Army Criminal Investigation Division officers for involvement in the pedophile cases, he was retaining highest-level security clearances, and was involved in pioneering work in military psychological operations ("psy-ops")...'

'Softies on Satan

When the San Francisco Chronicle contacted Army officials at the Presidio to find out if Aquino's security clearances had been lifted as the result of the pedophile investigations, the reporters were referred to the Pentagon, where Army spokesman Maj. Greg Rixon told them, "The question is whether he is trustworthy or can do the job. There is nothing that would indicate in this case that there is any problem we should be concerned about."

Indeed, the Pentagon had already given its de facto blessings to Aquino's long-standing public association with the Church of Satan and his own successor "church," the Temple of Set. This, despite the fact that Aquino's Satanic activities involved overt support for neo-Nazi movements in the United States and Europe. On October 10, 1983, while traveling in West Germany on "official NATO business," Aquino had staged a Satanic "working" at the Wewelsburg Castle in Bavaria. Aquino wrote a lengthy account of the ritual, in which he invoked Nazi SS chief Heinrich Himmler: "As the Wewelsburg was conceived by Heinrich Himmler to be the 'Mittelpunkt der Welt' ('Middle of the World'), and as the focus of the Hall of the Dead was to be the Gate of that Center, to summon the Powers of Darkness at their most powerful locus."

As early as April 1978, the U.S. Army had circulated A Handbook for Chaplains "to facilitate the provision of religious activities." Both the Church of Satan and the Temple of Set were listed among the "other" religions to be tolerated inside the U.S. military. A section of the handbook dealing with Satanism stated, "Often confused with witchcraft, Satanism is the worship of Satan (also known as Baphomet or Lucifer). Classical Satanism, often involving 'black masses,' human sacrifices, and other sacrilegious or illegal acts, is now rare. Modern Satanism is based on both the knowledge of ritual magick and the 'anti-establishment' mood of the 1960s. It is related to classical Satanism more in image than substance, and generally focuses on 'rational self-interest with ritualistic trappings...'

On Jury service at mo and first couple of days not picked for a case --very boring so decided to do a quick study on Satan and the like from the book of Revelation

the name Satan runs through both the judaic, old testament, christians new testament (and koran)

Satan "lives" in a city or cities
Satan has a throne (position of power and authority and rule)
Satan has a synagogue (specifically a synagogue or rather a generic worship place?)
Satan has deep secrets
Satan has teachers, prophets, prophetessess (men and women) often self appointed.
Satan has followers (knowingly or unwittigly)

He works through other and sometimes conflicting faiths/religions

A fruit of his work is sexual immorality and enticement

Also known as a great dragon or serpent

Satan able to give power and authority to others to work out his plans

Satan able to deceive in order to gain worship and adoration of man

Satan will be or will work through a world leader so has a political position

Satan and his sidekicks will have sway over many through "miracles and signs and wonders". (more likely to be those of a faith base rather than atheist)

Satan and his sidekicks will have great affect on controlling trade and commerce.

Another key player is a false church that wears purple and gold and other costly jewels. This key player has killed many for thier belief in Christ. this key player has dealings with world leaders.

Global Political upheaval between nations and this false church will signal a time for Satan to intervene

Interesting two verses that speak about those who call themselves Jews but are not. ( could this be political Zionists?)

Somewhere in all this there has been or will be a period of peace whilst satan rendered ineffective (1000 years literal or figurative?) before he reappears on the scene to deceive and cause wars. Beheading christians will be one modus operandi.

satan finally defeated.

Pity you picked on 'St.' John's Revelations!
The island of Patmos not only had psychedelic plants growing, but the cave where he had his 'visions' also had a fissure, from whence he got his messages and visions.
The Greek Islands where in a zone where underground volcanic activit created noxious fumes, whih clearly would exit the ground from 'fissures' in rock. The Oracle of Delphi also got her 'oracles' in a cave with fissures!

http://www.cleversley.com/?p=552

'The Island of Patmos

So, let’s examine the facts: Patmos is a small Greek island in the Aegean Sea. A cave on that island is the exact location in which John is said to have had the visions that allowed him to write Revelations. That location is so universally agreed upon, it’s now an historic center known as the “Cave of the Apocalypse.” Caves also happen to be at the center of a new debate in the archaeological community because several of world-reknown archaeologists who’ve put forth a controversial theory that caves are where some of humans’ earliest thoughts in relation to gods and spirituality were born.

As I’ve explained in other articles, a sudden leap in our mutual evolution occurred sometime around 32,000 years ago, coinciding with the appearance of strange paintings deep inside caves of France and Spain. A number of these paintings depicted half animal-half human creatures, unusual scenes that did not correlate to daily events, as well as spirals and other geometric patterns that have since been classified as classic stages of a an altered state of consciousness known as a trance state.

By their very nature, caves are conducive to altered states of consciousness. The darkness and isolation is the perfect recipe for sensory deprivation. With sensory deprivation often comes vivid imagery, and this imagery can be made even more vivid through a number of techniques that can include include everything from simple repetition of a mantra or prayer, to hyperventilation, to the ingestion of psychoactive substances, to dancing to the point of exhaustion, to sleep and/or food deprivation...

http://sacredsites.com/europe/greece/patmos.html

'In 95 AD, St. John the Theologian - one of the twelve disciples of Jesus - was sent into exile on the island. St. John remained on the island for eighteen months during which time he lived in a cave below the hilltop temple of Diana. In this cave exists a fissure, or small hole in the rock wall, from which issued a series of oracular messages that Prochoros, a disciple of St. John, transcribed as the Biblical chapter of Revelations. During his time in the sacred cave, now known as the Holy Grotto of the Revelation, St. John also composed the Fourth Gospel...'

With a lot of prophecy biblical or otherwise there is always an interest for people to interpret it prior to its fulfillment. A bit like all the end of the world dates certain self styled "teachers" want to push. I can never understand why other than an intellectual pride to say " i told you so". The end of the world one makes me laugh becuase no body will be around to pat the "teacher" on the back and say "yep, you were right"

The prophetic nature in the book of revelation appears to be more of an unfolding one which only those living through it or evan after it will have a fuller understanding of.

Its recorded that Christ said no one knows the exact day or hour BUT there will be indications leading towards it.

Uts not necessarily the "how" of johns visions thats important, unless one is looking for a rational explanation, but rather the content and if it can be seen to be unfolding in later history

My point is not whether John's 'Revelations' can in some wayforetell the future, but that Demonic entities have given information about things, processes and future events since time immemorial. Many people believe buildings like the Pyramids, knowledge of star movements, poison potions etc. (I read of one primitive tribe who used an arrow-tip poison that had an incredible number of preparatory stages; in no way would they have 'stumbled' upon it) were passed to ancient society by 'Aliens'; I believe they were passed to them by Demons (after all, in an uncontested part of the New Testament, the Devil is said to have said to Jesus, after his 40-day fast, '...To thee will I give all this power, and the glory of them; for to me they are delivered, and to whom I will, I give them. If thou therefore wilt adore before me, all shall be thine.' 'ALL', of course, includes 'knowledge'; there is an age-old saying that 'knowledge is power'. That I believe, is how 'witchdoctors' (and witches) got their following; they passed on useful information to their tribe, which they had learned from the 'spirits'. In many, if not most, cases, the 'spirits' wanted sacrifices, if not human, then animal.

Similarly, Demonic entities have, IMO, passed on great technological advancements to the US Military (just as they did for the Nazi's), in exchange for worship and huge human sacrifices (wars, induced famines, and the coming pogroms of genetically-modified pathogens to wipe out huge numbers of human beings). The 'Alien' and 'Shape-Shifting Lizard' business is just a smokescreen, foiisted on us by the PTB.

A SEX-MAD witch and a 200-strong coven plan to celebrate Halloween tonight — by deflowering a teenage virgin.
http://www.thesun.co.uk/sol/homepage/news/69185/Witch-orgy-to-take-vir ginity.html
Creepy David Farrant boasted yesterday how he will oversee the orgy to initiate the girl into his cult.
The 19-year-old trainee accountant will have full sex with a 30-year-old High Priest chosen by Farrant.
As the teen writhes naked with the stranger on the floor, the rest of the priests coven drop their robes to watch the display in the NUDE. The 200 onlookers then take part in a MASS-ORGY at a property in Barnet, North London.
Farrant, 56, is High Priest of the British Psychic and Occult Society. He claims to have bedded 2,000 women in similar Wicca religious ceremonies.
He said last night: Initiating a virgin on Halloween is very important for Wiccans in serious covens.
After the girl has had full sex people are then free to have sex with one another.
But its not an excuse for a mass orgy - sex is regarded as an essential life force.
Its all done in a private meeting place in Barnet with magical signs on the walls.
This sort of thing has to be done behind closed doors because it is not understood by the modern day public.
Farrant, from Muswell Hill, was jailed for nearly five years in the 1970s for damaging graves and sending voodoo dolls to police officers. His society now boasts 374 members and more than 200 are expected at tonights bash.
Farrant, who also describes himself as a Vampire Hunter, said in past years up to three women were initiated at the same time.
He added: These girls are mainly students or people who have left school and are disillusioned with life. They are all over 18 and we dont initiate them if we believe they are just coming along for the sex.

THE NINETEENTH CENTURY OCCULT REVIVAL
http://www.jesus-is-savior.com/Bible/NIV/occult.htm‎

The Legacy of Westcott & Hort
by Barbara Aho

"We learn from history that we do not learn from history," observed the German philosopher, Georg W.F. Hegel. The familiar axiom is at once lamentable and understandable. For the common man does not have at his disposal a store of reliable information upon which to base educated judgments, but a bewildering mass of half-truth, untruth and skewed data. Among the purveyors of misinformation are undiscerning historians, who scarcely take notice of those organizations which maintain a covert existence, and revisionist historians who misrepresent the secret societies to serve their agenda.

Exceptional recorders of human events who probe beyond the aura of mystery surrounding the arcane Traditions discover that a veritable "occult underground" exists and has existed throughout human history. The more perceptive find within the multiform kingdom of the cults that individual persuasions share a common agenda: to conform their society to a mutual set of philosophical ideals. Among these few will be found historian James Webb. With the pen of a ready writer, Webb has explored The Occult Underground of Western Civilization -- from the Renaissance through the rise of modern Spiritualism.

The Renaissance or rebirth describes the radical and comprehensive changes which occurred in European culture during the fifteenth and sixteenth centuries. The Protestant Reformation commenced in 1517, being firmly established in Europe fifty years later. Webb explains:

"From one point of view, what had occurred during the Renaissance/Reformation was roughly this: what might be called the Establishment culture of Western Europe, based entirely upon Christian values as defined by Rome, had at last yielded up its monopoly of jurisdiction -- never in theory, of course, but certainly in practice . . . The Renaissance represents the cultural release from the papal strait-jacket; the Reformation, the same release expressed in religious terms." (1)

Renaissance scholars believed that Western Civilization had progressed beyond the barbarism of the Middle Ages, having found its inspiration and closest parallel in the ancient civilizations of Greece and Rome. Humanism replaced medieval duty to God and the King and Renaissance men, such as Michelangelo, Leonardo da Vinci and Marsilio Ficino of the Platonic Academy in Florence, revived the artistic styles and metaphysical values of classical antiquity, notably in Italy. However, freedom from religious conscription produced a form of culture shock. Under the veneer of the revival of arts and refinement of culture, interest in the occult, magic and astrology flourished as a substitute for religious faith.

"In other words, the material of the occult Traditions, whether in the rarified form of Metaphysical speculation, or in the practical manifestation of magic, was common currency. This resulted from a period of uncertainty during which both the cultivated and the uncultured alike were searching for a departed security. The New Man of the Renaissance, liberated from his prison of the Middle Ages, flexed his muscles, and tried them on the Traditions . . .The figure of the Renaissance man is not complete if the place of the Magician is forgotten. Ficino was scholar, priest, and magician." (2)

Ficino incorporated Platonic literature and the Hermetic sciences - astrology, alchemy and magic - with Scripture, professing a Christian form of Neo-Platonism.

"Another source from which occultists have drawn their Secret Tradition is the school of speculation called Neo-Platonism. It has been argued that the seeds of Neo-Platonic doctrine were sown by Plato himself; but it is equally possible that the originators were his first-generation pupils in the Academy of Athens. Even the 'magico-religious' complexion of Neo-Platonism seems to have sprung from the Academy, where there was an interest in demonology and occult phenomena . . . " (3)

The Catholic Church, in its alliance with secular powers, had permitted in a limited way theories deriving from Plato and Neo-Platonism as a secular support for religious doctrine. However, the works of Aristotle had obtained entrance to Western Europe along with Neo-Platonism. Aristotle introduced the "scientific method," which was based upon observation rather than faith.

"Plato is the philosopher of the beyond, of the great metaphysical questions, and of the religious spirit. Aristotle is the exponent of what has come to be called the 'scientific method,' the careful study of observed data, and the commonsensical drawing of conclusions . . . " (4)

Roman Catholicism and other mystical religions such as Neo-Platonism, regardless of their differences, have more in common with Plato than with Aristotle. When the scientific approach obtained a foothold in Western Europe, it represented a serious threat to the existing order and undermined religious faith. By the end of the Renaissance, the two systems of philosophy which historically had competed for preeminence were reversed and Aristotle became the philosopher of choice.

"At the collapse of medieval society, Aristotle, the philosopher of observation and the scientific method vanquished Plato, the Metaphysician, logician of the beyond, and father of much occult Tradition . . . " (5)

The Age of Reason

The Renaissance had been a severe but not fatal assault on the established Church and its alliance with European monarchies. The scientific method, which would be a threat to "faith in Christ," was now granted an uneasy tolerance. Webb notes that, "For a time, this dangerous aspect of Aristotle was not appreciated by the Church -- not until it was too late."

"The Traditions had entered Europe with Aristotle, but, as has been explained, they were totally alien to the spirit of that philosopher. For a time the two strands of thought could draw support from the same sources. Both were opposed to the over-subtle theological approach of the late Middle Ages, and both employed practical experiment -- for magical experiment is as 'practical' as any other. But the Traditional view is founded on faith, and is a religious attitude, while the approach of the Aristotelians was that of discovery by observation of what was. . . But by the 18th century the scientific method had triumphed and the Age of Reason began its much-publicized career . . . " (6)

The triumph of Aristotle over Plato during the Renaissance eventuated in a mass departure from established religion, which was superseded by reliance on human achievement. The popular opinion of the Age of Reason or Enlightenment was Deism, which held that the universe revolved around man and although God had created the world, man was left alone to manage things.

"In the earlier period ideas of duty to God and King had given way to a recognition of secular standards and the pursuit of profit. During the 18th century there gradually developed an attitude of mind which enabled man to pursue with more success his worldly activities. In its extreme form this became Rationalism, and the Age of Reason was characterized, if not by a devotion to the things of this world, at any rate by a neglect of things belonging to the next. The Industrial, Social, Scientific and Romantic revolutions were all, in one way or another, the outcome of this concentration." (7)

In this atmosphere of scientific rationalism, faith in the unseen realm diminished producing a decline in orthodox religion. Likewise, the pursuit of occult or hidden knowledge was adjudged by the Establishment to be of equally doubtful intellectual respectability.

"But after the turmoil of the transitional period had subsided the Traditions returned to their status as the interest of a tiny minority. They went underground -- joined once more the opposition -- because during the crisis of the Renaissance and Reformation, Aristotle and the scientific method had won." (Cool

The Romantic Period

The conversion from worship of a Supreme Being to Human Reason had produced no minor insecurity and many failed to make the transition. The Romantic era was an artistic and intellectual movement of the late eighteenth century which also glorified Man, however with emphasis upon strong emotion, imagination, freedom from classical correctness in art forms, and rebellion against social convention. Discontent with the pursuit of materialism to the exclusion of transcendent ideals, the Romantic search for significance found fulfillment in occult mysticism and artists turned to the mysterious East with its Tradition of Oriental wisdom. The music and poetry of the Romantic masters became "conduits of essential truth" and "middle class drawing rooms…seedbeds for discussion of literary, political and musical topics among the intellectually progressive." (9)

The German metaphysician, Immanuel Kant, "challenged the salon culture to consign both the arid logic of ostensibly omnicompetent reason and tired reliance upon religious dogmas to the ash heap of bankrupt ideologies." (10) Kant further advocated the establishment of a world federation of republican states and Georg Hegel later developed the Kantian method of reasoning by "antinomies" as the basis for his dialectical method upon which the structure of Marxism was built. (11)

In the 1780's, young Frederich Schleiermacher readily absorbed Kant's philosophy. Although he had abandoned faith in the deity and vicarious atonement of Christ, Schleiermacher would enter ministry and become the "Father of Modern Theology." The evolution of his theology is described by Dr. Mark Devine in The Apologetic Betrayal of the Gospel as published in the Premise Journal:

"Doctrine then, odious to Kant in that it boasts of epistemological capabilities denied to it, is not dismissed by Schleiermacher so much as it is dethroned and domesticated. No longer will dogmas judge of true faith." (12)

As minister and metaphysician, Schleiermacher enthroned, instead of doctrine, "the power of Jesus self-consciousness" which was diffused through the believing community and taught that conversion is an arousal of the universal God-consciousness. Since the unity of the original church was the influence of the Savior, in Schleiermacher's view, "the essence of the church is fellowship." (13) The extensive influence of Schleiermacher would uproot the German church from its doctrinal base, giving rise to new principles of higher criticism which rejected the authenticity of the Gospels, particularly the miracles, and also the cardinal doctrines of the Christian faith.

The Occult Revival

Nineteenth century England and Western Europe experienced several major revolutions simultaneously. The Industrial Revolution had reconstructed the European economy; the scientific method of inquiry had challenged accepted religious norms; international communications removed geographical barriers; and the French Revolution of 1789 had created a milieu of abiding discontent among disenfranchised lower classes. James Webb records that "…in the short but significant upheavals of 1848 over fifty violent attempts took place to topple established governments." (14) Socialist organizations proliferated which received their inspiration from the dialectical writings of Karl Marx (Capital) and Frederich Engels. In 1859, in the midst of these converging revolutions, Charles Darwin published the Origin of Species, which evolutionary thesis shattered the already frail faith of many in the established Church.

James Webb likens the crisis of consciousness which overtook the nineteenth century to the cultural adjustment of the Renaissance period and contends that it was, in fact, "a belated continuation of the intellectual upheavals of the fifteenth and sixteenth centuries."

"What was happening was the final collapse of the old world-order which had first been rudely assaulted during the Renaissance and Reformation.. ..just when the Age of Reason seemed to be bearing fruit in the 19th century, there was an unexpected reaction against the very method which had brought success, a wild return to archaic forms of belief, and among the intelligentsia a sinister concentration on superstitions which had been thought buried . . . " (15)

"Reason died sometime before 1865…" wrote the historian. "…after the Age of Reason came the Age of the Irrational." Bereft of assurances of immortality after so great an attack on biblical revelation were masses of hopeless people "begging for a revelation which was scientifically demonstrable." Ensuing was a widespread flight from reason and a revival of the occult Traditions that had been discredited during the Enlightenment.

The foundation for a modern Spiritualist movement was already in place through the enterprises of three eccentrics. Emanuel Swedenborg, "a Swedish engineer turned prophet," who communicated with angels and spirits, had published the Arcana Coelestia in London in 1749; Franz Mesmer, "an Austrian physician branded unacceptable by the world of learning," popularized the idea of trance and the concept of Animal Magnetism (c. 1775); and Andrew Jackson Davis, "a young American good-for-nothing who took to seeing visions," became the first theorist of the Spiritualist movement through the publication in 1847 of his channeled work, The Principles of Nature, Her Divine Revelations." (16)

In 1848 it was announced, "The gods came down to earth again…" (17) Mysterious rappings of spirits were reported by the Fox family in their home in Hydesville, New York. Modern communications catapulted this isolated affair to international prominence and ignited a revival of occult interest and activity which would become the modern Spiritualist movement. People longed for a new religion and it was estimated that, by 1851, there were 100 mediums in New York City alone. Séances became the vogue in Europe where mediums were in demand to entertain guests with physical and mental phenomena at private parties. In England, clairvoyants would consult the dead for a guinea a sitting. James Webb draws the inference,

"They could shout in the face of the bogey Darwin that they knew they were more than the outcome of biological process, that they too had 'scientific proof'--and theirs was of the reality of the after-life." (1Cool

Alan Gauld, author of The Founders of Psychical Research, estimated that, in England, by the 1860's and 70's "…the existence of four fairly successful periodicals suggests that the number of active Spiritualists must have been well into five figures. The numbers of those influenced by Spiritualism, or at least interested in it, may have been perhaps ten times greater." (19)

The Anglican Spiritualists

The perplexity and inquisitiveness of the age had led to the formation of numerous Spiritualist societies. One of the early pioneers of Spiritualist inquiry was the Ghost Society at the University of Cambridge, England. The Founders of Psychical Research records the stated objective of the Cambridge Ghost Society:

"In 1851, was founded at Cambridge a Society to 'conduct a serious and earnest inquiry into the nature of the phenomena vaguely called supernatural,' and a number of distinguished persons became members." (20)

The Ghost Society is also described in the biography of one of its founding members, The Life and Letters of Fenton John Anthony Hort, by Arthur Hort.

"Two other societies…were started…in both of which Hort seems to have been the moving spirit…the other called by its members ‘The Ghostly Guild.' The object was to collect and classify authenticated instances of what are now called ‘psychical phenomena’…the 'Bogie Club' as scoffers called it, aroused a certain amount of derision, and even some alarm; it was apparently born too soon." (21)

The Society for Psychical Research: An Outline of its History and the Life of Edward White Benson by his son, Arthur, present further documentation of the distinguished founders of the Cambridge Ghost Society:

"Among the numerous persons and groups who in the middle of the nineteenth century were making enquiries into psychical occurrences may be mentioned a society from which our own can claim direct descent. In the Life of Edward White Benson, Archbishop of Canterbury, by his son, A. C. Benson, will be found, under the year 1851-2, the following paragraph:

'Among my father's diversions at Cambridge was the foundation of a 'Ghost Society,' the forerunner of the Psychical Society [meaning the S.P.R.] for the investigation of the supernatural. Lightfoot, Westcott and Hort were among the members. He was then, as always, more interested in psychical phenomena than he cared to admit.'

"Lightfoot and Westcott both became bishops, and Hort Professor of Divinity. The S.P.R. has hardly lived up to the standard of ecclesiastical eminence set by the parent society." (22)

Canon J.B. Lightfoot, Bishop B.F. Westcott, and Professor of Divinity F.J.A. Hort also served on the Revision Committee for the English Revised Version of 1881. Drs. Westcott and Hort produced a New Greek Text and created a new theory of textual criticism for this revision of the Authorized Version of 1611. Edward White Benson, who became Archbishop of Canterbury in 1883, married Mary Sidgwick. Edward and Mary became the parents of Robert Hugh Benson, who converted to Roman Catholicism during the Oxford Movement led by John Henry Newman. (23) Mary's brother, Henry Sidgwick married Eleanor Balfour, the sister of Arthur Balfour, who became a future Prime Minister of England. Gauld reflects --

"To say that the Sidgwicks had friends in high places would be an enormous understatement. They were also, I should guess, among the most intellectual couples of the century." (24)

Arthur Balfour's brother, Gerald, was also the brother-in-law of Emily Lutyens, a disciple of Theosophist Annie Besant and foster-mother of Jiddu Krishnamurti, who was thought to be Lord Maitreya, the World Teacher of the new age.

"Lady Emily Lutyens, the wife of the architect, is interesting in this context. Before joining the Theosophical Society she had interested herself in state-regulated prostitution, and toyed with the notion of Women's Suffrage. Her sister, Constance, went the whole way, was jailed and forcibly fed. Converted by Mrs. Besant, Emily became for ten years the devoted "foster-mother" and adherent of Krishnamurti. . . even among the highest reaches of society the crisis of consciousness made itself felt. The supernatural was no stranger to the family of Emily Lutyens.

"She herself had been born Emily Lytton, the granddaughter of the occultist Bulwer Lytton, and was the sister-in-law of Gerald Balfour, who with his brother Arthur became president of the Society for Psychical Research. The Balfours' sister, Nora, married Henry Sidgwick, whose own sister, Mary, became the wife of Edward White Benson, and the mother of Robert Hugh. Within this family connection, it is quite natural to find at least one devoted Theosophist." (25)

As an undergraduate at Cambridge, B.F. Westcott also founded the Hermes Club, which he named after the Graeco-Egyptian deity, Hermes Trismegistus. Subsequent Hermetic societies founded by other Spiritualists would become famous in England -- one organized in 1884 by Anna Kingsford and Edward Maitland, which was in close contact with the Theosophical Society, (26) and The Order of the Golden Dawn founded by MacGregor Mathers and Wynn Westcott. James Webb has elucidated the meaning of Hermes:

"In the history of the Secret Traditions the Hermetica became important because of the great value place on them in Renaissance Europe; in their context they are significant because they typify this magical attitude to life. The fact that Hermes is taken here as the founder of astrology, alchemy, or magic, the revealer of occult correspondences, is useful to emphasize that European attempts at practicing astrology, alchemy, or magic, often called the "Hermetic sciences," have their origins in the same period of religious ferment as saw the flourishing of the Mysteries and the birth of Neo-Platonism… the philosophical position of the Hermetica, with its doctrine that matter is evil and to be escaped, can be paralleled by the Gnostics." (27)

In her Theosophical Glossary, Madame H.P. Blavatsky also reported the extensive use of Hermetic doctrines in Gnostic writings:

"Hermetic. Any doctrine or writing connected with the esoteric teachings of Hermes . . . Though mostly considered as spurious, nevertheless the Hermetic writings were highly prized by St. Augustine, Lactantius, Cyril and others. In the words of Mr. J. Bonwick, 'They are more or less touched up by the Platonic philosophers among the early Christians (such as Origin and Clemens Alexandrinus) who sought to substantiate their Christian arguments by appeals to these heathen and revered writings, though they could not resist the temptation of making them say a little too much.' Though represented by some clever and interested writers as teaching pure monotheism, the Hermetic or Trismegistic books are, nevertheless, purely pantheistic . . . " (2Cool

A contemporary of B.F. Westcott, Mme. Blavatsky classified Westcott with the Gnostic philosophers, even laughing him to scorn in her channeled work, Isis Unveiled, for his credulity of The Pastor of Hermas. It seems that Anglican scholars gave the weight of Scripture to apocryphal literature from the occult underground with which she was familiar:

"In their immoderate desire to find evidence for the authenticity of the New Testament, the best men, the most erudite scholars even among Protestant divines, but too often fall into deplorable traps. We cannot believe that such a learned commentator as Canon Westcott could have left himself in ignorance as to Talmudistic and purely kabalistic writings. How then is it that we find him quoting, with such serene assurance as presenting 'striking analogies to the Gospel of St. John,' passages from the work of The Pastor of Hermas, which are complete sentences from kabalistic literature?" (29)

The Anglican Apostasy

In the early nineteenth century, England had experienced a series of Christian revivals which were continuations of the Methodist revival and during which formed the Evangelical party of the Anglican Church. Evangelicals converted during this awakening recovered the doctrines of salvation which had long been obscured by the sacramentalism and other enormities of the Church of England. Secular historian Alan Gauld noted the profound influence of the Evangelicals upon English society:

"By the eighteen-thirties Evangelicalism had begun to affect the whole life of the nation . . . Many writers have suggested that it was from the zeal and influence of the Evangelicals, and even from the legislation which they brought about, that some of the factors most characteristic of the Victorian middle-class way of life derived. Halevy says that Evangelical religion was 'the moral cement of English society.'" (30)

Gauld highlighted the distinguishing feature of the Evangelical community: "It is indeed the pattern of family life which Evangelicalism disseminated so widely that seems in retrospect its most important legacy." Notwithstanding so rich a religious heritage, the spiritual casualties among Evangelical youth were legion.

"The faith of children who were born into such households during the second quarter of the nineteenth century was to be severely tested. These children grew to maturity in a period when, for the first time in almost two hundred years, the discoveries and speculations of scientists and scholars were coming into marked and public conflict with the teachings of Christianity. It was, tragically enough, the most sensitive and the most intelligent Christians who were the most liable to succumb." (31)

As detrimental as Darwin's theory of natural selection, were other pernicious elements corrupting the younger generation of England and future clergy of the Anglican Church. The German scholar, Schleiermacher, was by this time molding the theology of Oxford and Cambridge in the Gnostic tradition. And the High Romantic poets of pantheism, William Wordsworth and Samuel Taylor Coleridge, were assiduously read and highly revered among the university intelligentsia. Coleridge, who ultimately died of an opium addiction,

"…had been to Germany and returned as a fervent devotee of its theology and textual criticism. At Cambridge University he became the star around which grouped a constellation of leaders in thought, Thirwall, (F.J.A.) Hort, Moulton and Milligan, who were all later members of the English Revision Committee." (32)

Another corruptive catalyst was the empiricist philosophy of John Stuart Mill, whose works attained enormous prestige at Cambridge and throughout England. The dominant theme of Mill's Logic, (1843) was that the only legitimate source of information man has about the world is the physical senses; conversely, "faith" is not a valid foundation for belief.

The failure of many Anglican hierarchy to repudiate the higher critics and radical freethinkers scandalized the Evangelicals, whose outraged response was considered reactionary by the scholarly community. In 1861, Benjamin Jowett and six liberal Churchmen published a volume entitled Essays and Reviews, in which they expressed alarm lest, "…the majority of Churchmen, by holding fast the narrow, fundamental beliefs, should estrange themselves more and more from contemporary thought." (33) Jowett himself maintained, "Scripture must be interpreted like any other book and some of the essayists were even more radical in their tone." The portents of apostasy in the Church of England were ominous.

"It seemed to conservative Christians quite appalling that at a time when the impregnable rock of Holy Scripture was being undermined by Darwin and his allies, a group of those whose sacred duty should have been to shore it up again had conspired to hammer their wedges not under it but into it." (34)

Many of the younger men of Trinity College at Cambridge were repelled by the Orthodox censure of the new speculations. In 1861 Henry Sidgwick, a Fellow and leading figure at Trinity, publicly defended the liberal manifesto of the clerical freethinkers: "As a learned divine (Mr. Westcott) expresses it, they love their early faith, but they love truth more." (35) Sidgwick finally resigned his Fellowship at Trinity College in 1869 on the grounds that he "could not continue in that assent to the doctrines of the Church of England which had been a condition of his appointment." It is noteworthy that in spite of this declaration, Sidgwick would be appointed to a position as professor of moral philosophy in 1892. Gauld records the rapid decline in spiritual aspirations among younger Cambridge men:

"Scepticism based on science flowed into and reinforced the older stream of doubt stemming from historical and ethical considerations. Their joint effect may be traced in the fact that whilst the outstanding Cambridge men of the 1840's -- B. F. Westcott, C. B. Scott, J. Llewellyn Davies, J.E.B. Mayer, Lord Alwyne Compton, E.H, Bickersteth, C. F. Mackenzie, Charles Evans, J. B. Lightfoot, E. W. Benson and F.J.A. Hort -- all took Orders (three of them becoming great clerical headmasters and six bishops), the outstanding Cambridge intellectuals of the 1870's -- the Trinity group centring on Henry Sidgwick and Henry Jackson and including Frederic Myers, G. W. and A. J. Balfour, Walter Leaf, Edmund Gurney, Arthur Verrall, F. W. Maitland, Henry Butcher and George Prothero -- tended towards agnosticism or hesitant Deism." (36)

Henry Sidgwick, Frederic Myers and Edmund Gurney were from devout Evangelical families and were sons of clergymen, as were their mentors at Cambridge, Brook Foss Westcott, Fenton John Anthony Hort and Edward White Benson. Sidgwick and Myers had matriculated at Trinity with the intent of entering the episcopate of the Church of England, Sidgwick having been influenced by his cousin E. W. Benson, who was a master at Cambridge before becoming a bishop and eventually the head of the Anglican Church. Alan Gauld explains Henry Sidgwick's mysterious change of mind:

"…the waning of his clerical ambition seems to have been the result of his election in 1857 to membership of the Apostles, a small but extremely select discussion society founded in the early part of the century." (37)

Gauld hints that the ideological disposition of this elite society was toward the design of a future global harmonization: "(The) Apostles had hoped that developments in the social sciences would before long make possible an equitable and frictionless society." (3Cool He notes also the club's profound effect upon its members: "The spirit of the society gradually came to absorb and dominate Sidgwick completely and to influence the whole direction of his life." (39) Sidgwick's memoirs state, "…the tie of attachment to this society is much the strongest corporate bond which I have known in my life." F.J.A. Hort and B.F. Westcott were also members, Arthur Hort describing his father's ardor and influence:

"…in June (1851) joined the mysterious Company of the Apostles…He remained always a grateful and loyal member of the secret Club, which has now become famous for the number of distinguished men who have belonged to it. In his time the Club was in a manner reinvigorated, and he was mainly responsible for the wording of an oath which binds members to a conspiracy of silence. " (40)

Young Fenton Hort had initial reservations about joining the Apostles, but a letter from Dr. F. D. Maurice whose "teaching was the most powerful element in his religious development," persuaded him to join. In Hort's words, Maurice was "the well-known radical" who was expelled from his position at King's College in 1853 for heretical views on cardinal doctrines of the faith, having published a story on the "divine unconscious humanity." (41) Hort explained his change of heart to a Rev. John Ellerton:

"Meanwhile I had (don't open your eyes to wide!) been asked to join the 'Apostles'; I declined, but after hearing a good deal which shook me, begged time to consider. Meanwhile I wrote to Maurice for impartial counsel, telling my objections, and his second letter contained a P.S. which left me no alternative. He said 'he could not advise me impartially.' His 'connection with them had moulded his character and determined the whole course of his life'; he owed them more than he could express in any words…" (42)

An elite club for elder Apostles, the Eranus, was founded in 1872 by B.F. Westcott, J.B. Lightfoot and F.J.A. Hort. Arthur Hort records his father's membership in this select society:

"He also regularly went to the meetings of a sort of senior 'Apostles' called the 'Eranus,' a club composed of elder men of various tastes and pursuits…" (43)

Henry Sidgwick, also a member, provided Arthur a profile of the Eranus for his father's biography:

"The originator of the idea was the present Bishop of Durham (Westcott), and he, together with Lightfoot and your father, may be regarded as constituting the original nucleus of the club…It was not designed to have, nor has it from first to last had, a preponderantly theological character; on the contrary, its fundamental idea was that it should contain representatives of different departments of academic study, and afford them regular opportunities for meeting and for an interchange of ideas…" (44)

One eminent scholar who addressed the Eranus in 1897 was Lord Acton, a Roman Catholic who was appointed by Gladstone to the position of Professor of History at Cambridge. Lord Acton was distinguished for his vision of the ultimate "Universal History," a mystical belief in a universal conscience of the human race which enables mankind to gradually evolve morally, and to progress in civilization to overcome the world. (45) James Webb correlated Lord Acton's Universalism with the vision of religious unity undertaken by the Parliament of the World's Religions at its opening conference in 1893." (46)

The Society For Psychical Research

The Anglican clergymen who founded societies for Spiritualist inquiry became dignitaries in the Church of England. However, the younger Cambridge intellectuals whom they had discipled in Spiritualist endeavors settled to work to establish a scientific basis for Spiritualistic investigation and proceeded to develop psychical research into a respected branch of knowledge.

"Of these (groups) the most important was that centered round Henry Sidgwick, Frederic Myers and Edmund Gurney, all Fellows of Trinity College, Cambridge and deriving its inspiration from the Cambridge University Ghost Society, founded by no less a person than Edward White Benson, the future Archbishop of Canterbury." (47)

In 1882, Henry Sidgwick, Frederic Myers, Edmund Gurney, Arthur and Gerald Balfour founded the Society for Psychical Research. Sidgwick who became the first president of the S.P.R. continued in this position for nine years. His prestigious connections and influence at Cambridge drew a number of distinguished persons into the Society, which James Webb speculates fulfilled the function of "Spiritualist church for intellectuals." Future Prime Minister Arthur Balfour, who was Sidgwick's ablest student at Cambridge, would serve as president of the S.P.R., as did his brother, Gerald Balfour, and sister, Eleanor Sidgwick. The record shows:

"In 1887, Council Members and Honorary Members of the SPR included a past Prime Minister (William Gladstone)…and a future Prime Minister (Arthur Balfour); …2 bishops; and Tennyson and Ruskin, two of the outstanding literary figures of the day;…'Lewis Carroll'…with a surprising number of titled persons." (4Cool

William Gladstone, Prime Minister from 1865-74, called psychical research, "The most important work, which is being done in the world. By far the most important work." William James, the famous psychologist, philosopher and father of author Henry James, became president of the American S.P.R. in 1885. However, in its industry and operation,

"… the driving force of the S.P.R. came very largely from the group of younger Trinity men of the 1870's mentioned previously (p. 64), as having turned, often with reluctance, towards agnosticism. Among the eleven who were named, six -- Sidgwick, Myers, Gurney, the two Balfours, and Walter Leaf became not merely members of the S.P.R., but its principle organizers, its very engine room. Closely linked with them was Sidgwick's wife, Nora, and one of his former students, Richard Hodgson." (49)

TheSociety for Psychical Research: An Outline of Its History, by W.H. Salter, President in 1947-8, mentions this detail as to Nora Sidgwick, who became principal of Newnham College, Cambridge in 1892:

"Mrs. Sidgwick…did not join the Society till 1884, for fear, apparently, that an open connection with so unorthodox a venture might prejudice Newnham College, in which then recent foundation she held a responsible position." (50)

The original objective of the S.P.R. was to conduct research into "that large group of debatable phenomena designated by such terms as mesmeric, psychical and spiritualistic." Committees were organized to examine telepathy, hypnotism, mesmeric trance, clairvoyance, ESP, apparitions, haunted houses, and to determine the laws of physical spiritualistic phenomena. In recognition of the important work accomplished by Benson, Westcott and Hort -- the leaders of its precursor, the Cambridge Ghost Society -- the S.P.R. Historical Outline posits,

"It would hardly have been possible for the new Society to undertake an enquiry of such a kind or on such as scale if several of its leading members had not already gained previous experience of the difficulties attaching to that type of investigation." (51)

In its early stages, the S.P.R. held séances in the townhouse of Arthur Balfour of which his sister Eleanor was the principle organizer. Various mediums of reputation were investigated with the purpose of ruling out charlatans and determining if entities from the spirit realm or deceased persons did in fact communicate with the living. In 1884, Madame H.P. Blavatsky, founder of the Theosophical Society, was graciously interviewed by a committee of the S.P.R. Although Richard Hodgson later would report "the tangle of fraud, intrigue and credulity" associated with her work in India, the SPR was at first --

"…considerably impressed by the evidence of Mme Blavatsky and her friends, and in a report, circulated within the Society but not published, declared: 'On the whole (though with some serious reserves) it seems undeniable that there is a prima facie case for some part at least of the claim made.'" (52)

Later investigations yielded positive results in the area of mental phenomena from prominent mediums, such as Mrs. Thompson and Piper, who were able to conduct "cross correspondences" devised by the spirits of deceased S.P.R. members to communicate with their colleagues. (53) Edmund Gurney and Frank Podmore, as Secretaries of the S.P.R., investigated and classified information on numerous mediums and, with Frederic Myers, wrote Phantasms of the Living. Gauld notes that Myers and Podmore, who wrote the classic Modern Spiritualism, may have been practicing homosexuals. (54) Gurney died unexpectedly in 1888 from an overdose of chloroform and there was considerable speculation of suicide. Frank Podmore was found drowned in 1910. (55)

In 1896, Frederic Myers joined the Synthetic Society, founded by Arthur Balfour and modeled upon the famous Metaphysical Society. The Synthetic Society was devoted, not to mere discussion of religious and philosophical questions, but to "contribute towards a working philosophy of religious belief." Myers read two papers to this Society, which Gauld surmises "were based upon communications from the departed spirits with whom he was now convinced that he was in genuine contact." (56) Myers had developed and written in the SPR Proceedings a detailed theory of the subliminal self, upon which he based his worldview and which emerges in Gauld's summary of the five points presented in these papers:

"(1) The 'preamble of all religions,' the primary belief from which they all begin, is that our . . . material world is interpenetrated and to an extent acted upon, by another order of things, an unseen spiritual world. . . it is only if the existence and nature of such a world can be established scientifically that we may expect any rapprochement between the warring sects; (2) 'The founders of religions have attempted to begin at once with the highest generalizations. Starting from the existence of God…It is possible that in all this mankind may have begun at the wrong end…'(3) …we possess or are evolving capacities which transcend merely terrene laws; (4) We can therefore obtain information about the metetherial plane by 'communicating' with the discarnate in the orthodox ways…their state is one of endless evolution in wisdom and love; (5)…the metetherial realm (is) a World Soul from contact with which we can in a suitable frame of mind draw in a revitalising strength and Grace…And linked to all…is a Universal Spirit…(whose) benefits may come directly through the World Soul…or are so to speak channelled through spirits nearer to, but still above, us." (57)

In the early 20th century, Sigmund Freud and Carl Jung were SPR Corresponding Members and contributed to the S.P.R.Journal of Proceedings. (5Cool In a recent expose of Jung's occult proclivities, The Jung Cult, Richard Noll gives substantial credit to Myers and the S.P.R. for Jung's major theories.

"With the founding of the Society for Psychical Research in England in 1882, and the copious publications of its investigators, new models of the unconscious mind emerged. The most respected model was that of the 'subliminal self' by Frederick Myers (1843-1901), the 'mytho-poetic' (myth-making) function of which resembles Jung's later conception of a collective unconscious. Jung read widely in the literature of psychical research in medical school and his 1902 dissertation cites the work of Myers and others in this school." (59)

The Founders of Psychical Research closes with the observation that psychical research emerged from the occult underground to a position of respectability within the establishment, largely due to the intellectual stature of the Society for Psychical Research.

"The concluding volume of the popular Harnsworth History of the World (1909) presents the work of the S.P.R. as the culminating point in the story of Mankind. Twenty or thirty years previously psychical research had met with much derision and hostility; but now the climate of opinion seemed to be changing for the better." (60)

In 1887, based on his investigation of deceased persons believed to inhabit the spirit realm, Frederic Myers forecast the future of psychical research:

"I do not feel the smallest doubt now that we survive death, and I am pretty confident that the whole world will have accepted this before A.D. 2000." (61)

The Society for Psychical Research is still active in London and is also accessible on the Internet. Current publications offered by the S.P.R. to interested seekers include:

"Hints On Sitting With Mediums; Tests For Extrasensory Perception and Psychokinesis; Trance Mediumship: An Introductory Study of Mrs. Piper and Mrs Leonard; Guide to the Investigation of Apparitions, Hauntings, Poltergeists and Kindred Phenomena; Psychical Research Past and Present; Survival: A Reconsideration, Do We Survive Bodily Death? Parapsychology and the UFO . . ." (62)

The Fabian Society

In 1881, Frank Podmore, who had joined the early Sidgwick group, met Edward Pease at one of the Spiritualist séances that were the vogue in London, at which time they became close friends. The next year he invited Pease to attend a meeting of this group in which the S.P.R. was formed. Norman and Jeanne MacKenzie relate this epic event in their history of The Fabians:

"In this same period a group of young dons from Trinity College, Cambridge, were also turning to psychic research as a substitute for their lost Evangelical faith. In February 1882, Podmore took Pease to a meeting at which this group founded the Society for Psychical Research . . . Among those who founded the SPR were Henry Sidgwick, Arthur Balfour -- later a conservative Prime Minister -- and his brother, Gerald." (63)

Edward Pease spent one year in the S.P.R. as secretary of its haunted-houses committee, but then turned to politics with the conviction that a social revolution was necessary. For a time he worked with an associate of Karl Marx, Henry Hyndman who founded the radical Social Democratic Federation. However, Pease was of the opinion that social revolution must begin with educating the intellectual and wealthy classes rather than fomenting agitation among the working class. He organized a Progressive Association which was joined by Podmore and other young fallen away Evangelicals.

The Association split into the Fellowship of the New Life, a commune with utopian illusions, and a research/debating group which Podmore named the Fabian Society, after the Roman general who defeated Hannibal. Fabius Cunctator's strategy which was to guide the Fabians was summarized in Podmore's words: "For the right moment you must wait…when the time comes you must strike hard." The Fabians soon attracted intellectuals from various other dissident organizations. Of these, Sidney Webb, Bernard Shaw and Annie Besant were members of the Dialectical Society influenced by the liberal millenarian aspirations of John Stuart Mill. As of 1886, the Fabian executive committee was comprised of Pease, Podmore, Besant, Shaw and Webb. However in 1889, Annie Besant was converted to the cult of Theosophy by Madame Blavatsky, whom she succeeded in 1891 as president of the Theosophical Society.

Upon this revolutionary base, Sidney Webb, his wife Beatrice and playwright George Bernard Shaw built an organization which educated the intellectuals, bohemians and disillusioned clergy of England in the art of "permeating" and using the machinery of government for their own socialist ends. The MacKenzie's observed, "There was, indeed, no clear dividing line between spiritual discontent and political radicalism in the netherworld of dissent." Bernard Shaw and Sidney Webb argued that "socialism could be proposed without forfeiture of moral credit by a bishop as well as a desperado." (64) The formation of the Christian Socialists and Christian Social Union created the vehicle by which socialist doctrine would permeate the Anglican Church.

"…the first Fabians…had almost all been lapsed Anglicans from Evangelical homes. There was a Christian fringe to the London socialism of the eighties, but this too was Anglican. The Christian Socialists came together in Stewart Headlam's Guild of St. Matthew and the Land Reform Union; and the more respectable Christian Social Union, formed in 1889 -- seeking in Fabian style to permeate the Anglican Church -- soon attracted more than two thousand clerical members. Dissenting clergymen too began to find a place in the Fabian Society and the London Progressives, while Unitarian churches and centres like Stanton Coit's Ethical Church provided a meeting place for believers and idealist agnostics . . . Socialism was for all of them, the new Evangelism." (65)

As Bishop of Durham, B.F. Westcott also served as first president of the Christian Social Union. The subject of an address at Manchester in November of 1895 was Christian Law, which Westcott postulated changes to adapt to variable social conditions:

"The Christian Law, then is the embodiment of the truth for action, in forms answering to the conditions of society from age to age. The embodiment takes place slowly and can never be complete. It is impossible for us to rest indolently in conclusions of the past. In each generation the obligation is laid on Christians to bring new problems of conduct into the divine light and to find their solution under the teaching of the Spirit." (66)

In 1894, the Fabian Society designated a large bequest to found the London School of Economics and Political Science. Philosopher Bertrand Russell served on the Administration Committee while Arthur Balfour contributed £2000 and also collaborated with Sidney Webb to introduce legislation in Parliament which would give the school university status. H.G. Wells, who had recently joined the Fabians, was "branching out into speculations about a new social order which naturally interested the Webbs." (67) An elite group of Twelve Wise Men, which included Russell and Wells, were selected as the "Co-Efficients" who met to discuss and formulate:

"Ideas about racial improvement by selecting out the efficient…and Shaw was working on these 'eugenic' notions in his new play Man and Superman. Beatrice Webb called it 'the most important of all questions, the breeding of the right sort of man.'

"…Above all they were avowed elitists, intolerant of the cumbersome and apparently wasteful processes of democracy, who wanted to see England ruled by a superior caste which matched an enlightened sense of duty with a competence to govern effectively. All of them, moreover, shared Sidney's belief -- which had led him to spend so much effort on London education and on the School of Economics -- that social improvement depended upon the training of the superior manpower needed to carry out schemes of reform. Shaw was suggesting in his latest play that universal suffrage was a disaster, putting power in the hands of the 'riff-raff' and… Webb who could not wait until a new race of supermen had been bred up to establish the millennium, felt that improved education and intelligent politics would at least start the necessary process of regeneration." (6Cool

Established as a long-term investment to educate and train an elite workforce to carry out the schemes of socialist reform, the London School of Economics is now one of the largest schools of the University of London, having also an international reputation. Over half of its 5,000 students and academic staff are from outside of the United Kingdom. Five of its former staff members have won Nobel Prizes and its Journal of International Studies, Millennium, enjoys world-wide circulation and recognition. The L.S.E. also provides consultants to many organizations, including the U.K. government, international bodies such as the World Bank, the International Monetary Fund and the United Nations. The New Testament Scheme

The progenitor of the Society for Psychical Research and the Fabian Society was the Cambridge University Ghost Society, founded in 1851. In 1853, two years after founding said Ghost Society, F.J.A. Hort and B. F. Westcott agreed, upon the suggestion of publisher Daniel Macmillan, to take part in "an interesting and comprehensive 'New Testament Scheme,'" that is, to undertake a joint revision of the Greek New Testament. (72) The project was withheld from public knowledge during the twenty years required by Westcott and Hort to complete the New Greek Text and during the subsequent ten years during which an English Revision Committee revised the 1611 Authorized Version. However, during this period of nearly thirty years, Drs. Westcott and Hort maintained their involvement in the Spiritualist pursuits of their various secret societies and political cabals: the Hermes Club, Ghost Society, Company of Apostles, and Eranus. The following entry appears in April, 1853 in The Life and Letters of Fenton John Anthony Hort:

"One result of our talk I may as well tell you. He (Westcott) and I are going to edit a Greek text of the New Testament some two or three years hence, if possible. Lachmann and Tischendorf will supply rich materials, but not nearly enough; and we hope to do a good deal with Oriental versions. Our object is to supply clergymen generally, schools, etc., with a portable Greek text which shall not be disfigured with Byzantine corruptions." (Italics in original) (73)

The elimination of "Byzantine corruptions" would be the substitution of minority (1%) Alexandrian manuscripts for the Textus Receptus, the Received Text which had been recognized for nearly two millennia of church history and which agrees with the majority (99%) of manuscripts extant. (74) Karl Lachmann (1793-1851) was professor of Classical and German Philology in Berlin, and also a German rationalist and textual critic who produced modern editions of the New Testament in Germany in 1842 and 1850. David Cloud expounds:

"(Lachmann) began to apply to the New Testament Greek text the same rules that he had used in editing texts of the Greek classics, which had been radically altered over the years… Lachmann had set up a series of several presuppositions and rules which he used for arriving at the original text of the Greek classics… He now began with these same presuppositions and rules to correct the New Testament which he also presupposed was hopelessly corrupted." (75)

Lachmann furnished the critical authority for Drs. Westcott and Hort in their formulation of a method of Textual Criticism, known as the Westcott and Hort Textual Theory. They hypothesized that that the original New Testament text had survived in near perfect condition in two manuscripts other than the Received Greek Text, which theory according to translators of the New King James Bible, "has since been discredited for lack of historical evidence." (76) In The Revision Revised, the brilliant textual scholar Dean John William Burgon refuted the claims of the Westcott-Hort Theory as:

"…the latest outcome of that violent recoil from the Traditional Greek Text, -- that strange impatience of its authority, or rather denial that it possesses any authority at all, -- which began with Lachmann just 50 years ago (viz. In 1831), and has prevailed ever since; its most conspicuous promoters being Tregelles (1857-72) and Tischendorf (1865-72) . . . Drs. Westcott and Hort have in fact outstripped their predecessors in this singular race. Their absolute contempt for the Traditional Text, -- their superstitious veneration for a few ancient documents; (which documents however they freely confess are not more ancient than the 'Traditional Text' which they despise;) -- knows no bounds." (77)

Dr. Hort had, in fact, repudiated the authority of Scripture, writing to a Rev. Rowland Williams in 1858, "There are, I fear still more serious differences between us on the subject of authority and especially the authority of the Bible." (7Cool To B.F. Westcott he wrote in 1860, "But I am not able to go as far as you in asserting the infallibility of a canonical writing." (79) In response to this admission of a heretical position, Westcott wrote:

"For I too 'must disclaim settling for infallibility.' In the front of my convictions all I hold is the more I learn, the more I am convinced that fresh doubts come from my own ignorance, and that at present I find the presumption in favor of the absolute truth -- I reject the word infallibility -- of Holy Scripture overwhelming." (80)

Constantin Tischendorf (1815-74) was a German textual editor whom Dr. Frederick Scrivener of the English Revision Committee ranked "the first Bible critic in Europe." Tischendorf traveled extensively in search of ancient documents and was responsible for finding the two manuscripts most relied upon in the Westcott-Hort Greek Text, the Codex Sinaiticus and Codex Vaticanus. Tischendorf discovered (c. A.D. 1844) the Vaticanus B manuscript in the Vatican Library and Sinaiticus Aleph in a waste basket in a Catholic Convent at the base of Mt. Sinai. (81) In The Revision Revised, Dean Burgon described for his English readers the corrupt character of the manuscripts primarily used by Westcott and Hort, not to revise the Textus Receptus, but to create an altogether new Greek Text.

"It matters nothing that all four are discovered on careful scrutiny to differ essentially, not only from ninety-nine out of a hundred of the whole body of extant MSS, besides, but even from one another. This last circumstance, obviously fatal to their corporate pretensions, is unaccountably overlooked. And yet it admits of only one satisfactory explanation: viz. That in different degrees they all five exhibit a fabricated text. . .We venture to assure [the reader] without a particle of hesitation, that Aleph, B, D, are three of the most scandalously corrupt copies extant: -- exhibit the most shamefully mutilated texts which are anywhere to be met with: -- have become, by whatever process (for their history is wholly unknown), the depositories of the largest amount of fabricated readings, ancient blunders, and intentional perversions of Truth, -- which are discoverable in any known copies of the Word of God." (82)

The manuscripts in question were found to derive from an underground of occult scripture within Christendom that has been passed through successive generations since the apostolic era. As the occult Traditions have sought to infiltrate and transform the secular establishment, the Church has historically been attended by an Alexandrian Tradition, which seeks to smuggle Gnostic doctrines into the Sacred Canon via the "revision" or "correction" of Scripture. Bible scholar, Dr. Herman Hoskier parallels the folly of Israel returning to Egypt to the Anglican scribes searching for inspired writings in the ancient house of bondage:

"Nearly all revision appears to center in Egypt, and to suppose all the other documents wrong when opposed to these Egyptian documents is unsound and unscientific . . . those who accept the Westcott and Hort text are basing their accusations of untruth as to the Gospellists upon an Egyptian revision current 200 to 450 A.D. and abandoned between 500 to 1881, merely revived in our day and stamped as genuine." (83)

The Revision Committee

In 1857, liberal Anglican churchmen petitioned the Government to revise the 1611 Authorized Version, but were refused permission. A general distrust of revising the sacred text was prevalent and Archbishop Trench, later a member of the Revision Committee, called the issue, "A question affecting…profoundly the whole moral and spiritual life of the English people… (with) vast and solemn issues depending on it." Nevertheless, in 1871, the Convocation of the Southern Province was appealed to and consented to a revision.

The Revision Committee was divided from the beginning, the majority of two-thirds being those in favor of applying German methods of higher criticism to the revision process. The first chairman, Bishop Wilberforce, resigned calling the work a "miserable business," and protested the presence on the committee of a Unitarian scholar, Dr. G. Vance Smith. Dr. Smith, who denied the divinity of Christ, had nonetheless participated in a communion service at Westminster Abbey upon the invitation of Bishop Westcott prior to the first committee meeting. (84) Dean John Burgon has recorded that committee members were bound to a pledge of silence. (85) David Otis Fuller stated in Which Bible? that the Westcott-Hort New Greek Text, which altered the Textus Receptus in 5,337 places,

". . . was, portion by portion, secretly committed into the hands of the Revision Committee . . . The minority members of the Revision Committee, and especially the world, had no knowledge of the twenty years' effort of these two Cambridge professors to base their own Greek Testament upon these two [Aleph and B] manuscripts." (86)

The liberal majority was guided by F.J.A. Hort, B.F. Westcott and J.B. Lightfoot, of whom "Hort's was the strongest will of the whole Company, and his adroit-ness in debate was only equaled by his pertinacity." Arthur Hort confirms that on the committee, "Hort seems to have been the dominating influence…" In 1861, Dr. Hort implied the necessity of stealth to Dr. Westcott --

"Also -- but this may be cowardice -- I have sort of a craving our text should be cast upon the world before we deal with matters likely to brand us with suspicion. I mean a text issued by men already known for what will undoubtedly be treated as dangerous heresy, will have great difficulties in finding its way to regions which it might otherwise reach, and whence it would not be easily banished by subsequent alarms." (87)

Subsequently pleased with the progress of the "New Testament Scheme," Dr. Hort wrote in 1870 to a friend:

"It is quite impossible to judge the value of what appear to be trifling alterations merely by reading them one after another. Taken together, they have often important bearings which few would think of at first…The difference between a picture say of Raffaelle and a feeble copy of it is made up of a number of trivial differences…We have successfully resisted being warned off dangerous ground…It is, one can hardly doubt, the beginning of a new period in Church history. So far the angry objectors have reason for their astonishment."(8Cool

In 1881, the English Revision Committee cast upon the world a New Greek Text and an English Bible which, in the words of one reviser contained "between eight and nine changes in every five verses, and in about every ten verses, three of these were made for critical purposes." A treatise on modern translations, Another Bible, Another Gospel by Robert Baker, includes twenty tables which compare hundreds of Scripture verses -- in the English Revised Version and in modern versions based on the New Greek Text -- which undermine fundamental doctrines of the Christian faith. (89) One table examines modifications in the modern versions which change the interpretation of key verses pertaining to Bible prophecy. Obscured in the ERV and modern Bible versions are the identities of the future man of sin "who sitteth in the temple of God, shewing himself that he is God", the occult Mark of the Beast which he will cause all to receive and the Harlot religious system which is situated upon seven mountains. (II Thess. 3:3,4; Rev. 13:16-18; Rev. 17:9,10)

The Legacy

The secular historians of the nineteenth century progressive underground -- James Webb, Alan Gauld, the MacKenzies -- agree that the dominant figures in the occult/socialist movements were, with few exceptions, from Evangelical homes and whose the fathers were Anglican clergymen. The onslaught of skepticism, higher criticism and mysticism had assailed the citadel of Scripture but not the lofty ideal of social transformation which inspired Evangelical activism. The authors of The Fabians explained this anomaly --

"The lesson instilled by Evangelical parents had been given a secular form. Evolution or what (Sidney) Webb called Zeitgeist, had taken the place of Providence, yet what Webb described as 'blind social forces…which went on inexorably working out social salvation' did not relieve men of their moral responsibility. Victorian religion had taught that a belief in God's purposes must be accompanied by an effort to discern and advance them. Socialists who substituted a secular religion for the faith of their youth felt the same compulsion." (90)

Of the nineteenth century cast of noteworthy characters, it may be postulated that two figures stand preeminently at the fountainhead of the converging streams of twentieth century Spiritualism and globalism. During the thirty year period in which B.F. Westcott and F.J.A. Hort were employed in the creation of a New Testament Greek Text and revision of the English Bible, they also guided organizations dealing in matters occult and conspiratorial. Their progeny includes not only the plethora of contemporary versions based upon Egyptian recensions, but also the Society for Psychical Research, which first propounded the principles of both modern Spiritualism and Psychology, and the S.P.R. derivative, the socialist Fabian Society, which founded the globalist London School of Economics and Political Science. The contribution of Westcott and Hort to modern spiritualism and global integration is indeed vast and is increasing exponentially as the modern prophets of occult Traditions receive international power to give full expression to MYSTERY BABYLON, which rides the Beast of the apocalyptic vision.

This movie is a real eye-opener; it is a (relatively) short - but extensive - "history lesson" which covers three main ideas:
1. NWO
2. Secret Societies
3. Biblical Prophecy

One of the best expositions, in one essay, of the occult development and religion of the Nazis, including suppression of the masons in 1934, I've seen. And looks like it's by a German too.
Could cross-post in New World Order Is What? thread but not for now...

THE CLOSING OF ALL OCCULT INSTITUTIONS
It is very interesting that in 1934 Hitler gave orders that all public occult installations were to be closed down in Germany. The Nazi regime in their official statement to the German people told them that there was no merit in occult activity and that from now on it was forbidden for Germans to engage in the occult. All prophetic activity, magic research and producing and reading occult books was declared illegal. The occult palace in Berlin closed. Hitler’s old mentor and friend from his Vienna days, Georg lnaz von Liebenfels could no longer sell his books in Germany. What the Nazi party did not let the German people know was that the Nazi party went into overdrive in the occult world, but wanted no competition from ordinary Germans.

THE NEW WORLD ORDER
The political, religious and military leaders in the world are talking about a future "New World Order,' Adolf Hitler talked about the "1,000 Years' Reich," and Jesus calls it the "Great Tribulation."

For then shall be great tribulation, such as was not since the beginning of the world to this time, no, nor ever shall be. And except those days should be shortened, there should no flesh be saved: but for the elect's sake those days shall be shortened. Matthew 24:21-22

Most Christians believe that the Great Tribulation will last for seven years with the Antichrist ruling, but the Bible tells us that it shall last for some 41.6 years if we use the time table that the apostle Peter gives us in 2 Peter 3:8.3

And here is the mind which hath wisdom. The seven heads are seven mountains, on which the woman sitteth. And there are seven kings: five are fallen, and one is, and the other is not yet come; and when he cometh, he must continue a short space. And the beast that was, and is not, even he is the eighth, and is of the seven, and goeth into perdition. And the ten horns which thou sawest are ten kings, which have received no kingdom as yet; but receive power as kings one hour with the beast. These have one mind, and shall give their power and strength unto the beast. These shall make war with the Lamb, and the Lamb shall overcome them: for he is Lord of lords, and King of kings: and they that are with him are called, and chosen, and faithful. Revelation 17:9-14

IT BEGAN IN GERMANY
After having studied prophecy and world events for 34 years, and researched books, magazines, official documents, listened to audio recordings, videos, etc. I have come to the following conclusion: Satan himself is the master planner, and through his fallen angels, demons and other creatures in his kingdom, people are being supernaturally "guided" to do his bidding on this earth. Here is a spiritual law, which I have found to be true: Satan can only introduce events and technology if he can first seduce a human being to become his vessel and be the channel for it. Thus, false religions and occult teachings are a priority in the kingdom of Satan.

Founder of the Illuminati Order

Frankism

The top human leadership in Satan's organization is made up of Kabbalistic Jews, who have in turn spawned numerous organizations under them, including false religions. The main organizations found in my studies are as follows: Zionism, Communism, Socialism and Fascism. The second layer is made up of a variety of secret societies, including Free Masonry. The third layer consists of intelligence services from the different nations in the world. The fourth layer is made up of different media such as, radio, television, and the printed press. It is here in this group we will also find the "entertainment" industry (movie production, pornography, music, publishing houses and the entire gambling industry which uses the entertainers to draw the public).4

Rothschild, a Knight Templar of the Maltese Order?

The highest ranking humans in Satan's organization are Kabbalistic Jews, who have believed the lie that Satan will establish them as rulers on the earth, with a new majestic temple in Jerusalem. As presented earlier in The Dove magazines, the three men responsible for the modern day events in the world are Adam Weishaupt, Jacob Frank and Mayer Amschel. All three were living at the same time in Germany. Weishaupt created the Illuminati which is today controlling the Masonic system in the world; Jacob Frank set up the modern Kabbalistic system and Amshel took the name of Rothschild and created the current banking system which controls all banking in the world today.

Kaiser Wilhelm mit Malteser-Kreuz

In the next century came the German Jew, Moses Hess (1812-1875), a strong Luciferian Kabbalist, who wrote the teachings which laid the foundation of Zionism, Communism, Socialism, National Socialism and Fascism.5

Moses Hess

The mixing of government, technology and the occult (supernatural) was tried in France, during the French revolution, which took place between 1787 to 1789. However, the violence was uncontrollable and thus technology development in France during those years was not possible. The next nation that was targeted was Germany, when the government of Kaiser (Emperor) Wilhelm II (1859-1941) was forced to abdicate on November 9, 1918, and a more "benign" revolution took place, which kept the German infrastructure in place. The "new Germany" was known as the Weimar Republic, lasting from 1919 through 1933.

THE NATIONAL SOCIALIST PARTY (THE NAZI PARTY)6
Not many people have understood that the Nazi party from the very beginning was a mixture of politics and occultism. The ideology of the party was taken from the German Free Masonic lodge "Germanenorden" ( founded in 1912 in Leipzig and by 1916 had 100 lodges). Master for this order was Herman Paul. In 1916 the Order was split, and by 1918 it was reorganized by Philip Stauff. One group that broke away under the leadership of Rudolf von Sebottendorf, who later became its Grand Master, had 1500 members by 1919. One of the members at this time was Herman Goring (future member of the Nazi party, confidant of Hitler and later head of the German Luftwaffe (Air Force). The head lodge of the order was located in Munchen (Munich). This lodge was renamed "THE THULE SOCIETY" and Baron Sebattendorf, who was also an astrologist, became the Grand Master of the Thule Society. The official religion of this order was the devotion and worship of a mysterious continent, which had sunk into the Atlantic Ocean, which in Germany was known as "Thule" and in the United States, is known as "Atlantis." Sebottendorf had spent some time in Turkey, where he became friend with the Jewish family Termudi from Saloniki. The father of the Termudi family was a member of the French Masonic lodge of the "Memphis rite," and Sebottendorf joined this lodge. He was introduced to "Sufism," which is a mystical branch of Islam, teaching about learning truth, divine love and wisdom. Thus Islamic thoughts were mingled in with the devotion of the lost continent. The Thule Society adopted "the male" swastika as its symbol, which later became the official symbol of the Nazi party.

The official policy of the Thule Society at this time was to destroy what they called the "primitive Marxism" in Germany. The leadership of the Society under the supervision of the journalist and Luciferian Dietrich Eckart, on January 5, 1919, founded a labor party called "Deutscher Arbeiterverein" (the German workers' society). The Thule Society also started a newspaper called "Muncherner Beobachter" (The Munich Observer),which later became the national newspaper for the Nazi party under the name "Volkischer Beobachter" (The People's Observer).

The Thule Society was - like the Templars - heavily involved in astrology, black magic, Luciferian rituals, perverse sexual rituals and in which they were contacting spiritual powers who could give them insight from the lost continent in the Atlantic Ocean and future events. Members were both heterosexual and homosexual.

The membership in the Thule Society did not come from the lower classes in Germany, but consisted of judges, chiefs of police, attorneys, teachers, professors, industrial leaders, medical doctors, scientists and other rich German people of which many were Jewish. Future leaders in Nazi Germany, like Wilhelm Frick (Interior Minister during the Nazi regime), Hans Frank (a German Jew who later became Secretary of the Justice Department in Nazi Germany and then appointed the German governor over occupied Poland) became members of the Thule Society, and so did Rudolf Steiner (founder of the Anthroposophical Society and the parent organization of the Waldorf Schools,7 the German-British Jew Rudolf Hess (who later became Hitler's Deputy Chief of the Nazi Party) and Alfred Rosenberg (An Estonian born Jew, who became editor of Volkisher Beobachter and later head of the Nazi Party when Hitler was serving time in prison in 1923).

The Pink Swastika

Members of the Thule Society at that time read like Who's Who in Germany in 1919. The foundation of the Nazi party was laid, and it was going to not only be a political party, but for the first time politics and occultism were merged into one, which later was going to lead to an occult Nazi state, where technology would also be added, combining all three as never before.

The V-Sign is the Sign of the occult, satanic Sabbatean/Frankists

In order for the American reader of this newsletter to understand how much this German cabal of Satanists, after being dead for many years, are still influencing the entire public education system in the United States, let us briefly look at one member – Rudolf Steiner: Not only was Steiner a member of the Thule Society, he had been a Freemason for many years, a member of the Theosophical Society and a grandmaster in the lodge "MYSTICA AETERNA." This lodge belonged to the Memphis and Misraim Rite masonry, which was open for both men and women. The future butcher of Russia, Vladimir Lenin, was a Freemason and lived for many years in Switzerland. From the year 1909 and on, Steiner was in frequent contact with Lenin, while he still resided in Switzerland. Steiner was also a member in another occult Masonic order, Ordo Templi Orientis (OTO) which claimed to be the heirs to the KNIGHTS TEMPLAR, an order specializing in ritual sexual orgies.

Churchill, a KNIGHTS TEMPLAR?

Churchill, a KNIGHTS TEMPLAR?

The official teaching of the Anthroposophical Society is "the human intellect has the ability to contact spiritual worlds." This is typical double talk that is found in the New Age, and its real meaning is to teach people to establish contacts with spirit beings (known in the Bible as demons). In order for Steiner and his group to progress beyond their society, they established the Waldorf school system, which spread to the United States in 1928, and there are now over 157 established schools with a large school in Sacramento, the capitol of California. The graduates from this school system now are in the hundreds of thousands, and these misled trained occultists have now reached into every structure in the U.S., from politics, business, education, etc. and through their influence the public school system in the U.S. has adopted a number of Waldorf techniques, through which their occult teaching is now openly taught in public schools. They are vanguards to the coming occult takeover of the world.

When I exposed this system in Sacramento in the late 1970s, there was a swift response from the Anthroposophical Society. Thirty members from the local lodge showed up at a Wednesday Bible study, trying to intimidate and scare us into stopping our expos size="3"é of them, even writing threatening letters. Our ministry refused to back down and we are still distributing our written pamphlets against this very sinister occult group.8

HITLER ARRIVES If you as a reader have never understood this before, I hope that by now you will have the insight that Adolf Hitler was not the founder of the Nazi party, it was an occult organization set up by Devil worshipers who were working on what they called "THE NEW WORLD ORDER."

As I have written in previous articles in The Dove, Adolf Hitler was born in Austria and was a half Jew. He was not very successful in life as a young man, so for awhile he tried to make a living by painting pictures and then selling them. However, he was a good reader and read all the books he could get his hands on. At a young age he was drawn to the occult and his first occult teacher was a Jew from Vienna by the name of ERNST PRETZSCHE, the owner of an occult book store in Vienna. This Austrian Jew had grown up in Mexico City, where his father had worked in a pharmacy, but his purpose for having come to Mexico was to learn the ritual magic of the Aztec Indians

Pretzsche educated Hitler in black magic and revealed the secret symbols of astrology and alchemy. He also advised Hitler to use the drug "mescaline" as the means of opening up his third eye, which would give him spiritual access to the so called "AKASHA CHRONICLE," which according to occult teaching contains the "real" world history, and where knowledge and life experience is stored.

Prior to meeting this Jewish occultist, Hitler had practiced meditation and self-control of his will. He used the drug peyote, which in time became habit forming for him. Hitler discovered that he had the gift to work as a medium in s size="3"éances. Hitler told the British occultist, Sir Walter Johannes Stein, that he had seen pictures from the Akasha Chronicle, including scenes from previous lives in this world (Hitler believed in reincarnation).

The fake baron and doctor Georg Lanz von Liebenfels, an Austrian half Jew also taught Hitler in occultism.9 Like so many Freemasons this man was also a homosexual, and most likely he introduced young Hitler to this practice.

Most written material about Adolf Hitler has painted him as a mediocre young man, who more or less drifted through life. However, this is not a true picture of him. Instead, he was highly intelligent, well- read and strongly committed to the occult, especially black magic. He was a skilled medium and moved in and out of the spirit world.

When World War I broke out in 1914, Hitler volunteered to join the German Army. He believed that "fate" would protect him and thus he exposed himself to danger time and time again, and for this he was rewarded the German Iron Cross. Hitler at this time had a normal libido, and in 1916 he met a young French woman, Charlotte Lobjoie, who lived in the French city Vavrin, which at that time was occupied by the German army. Their relationship lasted two years and the result was that she became pregnant and gave birth to a son on March 18, 1918, whose name was Jean Loret. Once Hitler had come to power in 1933 he wanted to bring his son to Germany, but since his mother was working as a stripper in Paris and had become an alcoholic, it was decided that it was not in the best interest of the Nazi Party to bring Hitler's son to Berlin. Once France was occupied in 1940, Hitler had the Gestapo find his son and give him protection and a job in the Gestapo. In 1944 the Gestapo destroyed all his records to save him from being tried as a traitor, and it was not until his mother was on her death bed in 1951, that she finally told her son that Adolf Hitler was his father. During the 1970's it was proved that Jean Loret was indeed the son of Hitler. Loret died in 1985, leaving behind two children, a boy and a girl.

After World War I was over, Adolf Hitler was hired as an intelligence agent for the German Army. At the time there was much unrest in Germany and the German military command decided to infiltrate a number of organizations, in order to find out if there was any subversive activity. (If Hitler was such a "raving idiot" as he has been portrayed by the media in the West, the German Army would never had recruited him as a paid undercover agent).

Hitler was assigned to penetrate "THE GERMAN WORKERS' PARTY," which was the name the Thule Society had given to its labor organization. His first encounter with this party took place September 12, 1919, and up to this time Hitler had no prior knowledge of the society. As soon as Dietrich Eckart saw Hitler, he knew through demonic insight that this was the future leader of the party because in previous s size="3"éances, Eckart had been given specific instructions about the future leader of Germany. Eckart then introduced Hitler to the Thule Society.

WHY AM I DETAILING THE OCCULT IN THE NAZI PARTY?

To my knowledge, no Christian writer and researcher has had access to the material that I possess. Thus, it has been impossible for Christian writers to understand why such enormous occult power exists in the United States Government and in its military-industrial complex. I too have been at a loss to explain why some 10,000 Nazi German scientists, doctors and mind control specialists were removed from Germany at the end of World War II and taken to the United States where they were given protection and great positions in our defense research and in the military itself. I knew that it happened, but I could not come up with a logical explanation as it defied all logic. I now know why and will share it with you, since this will give us the key in understanding the coming rise of the Antichrist.

We must also remember that hidden archives were not opened to researchers like Juri Linna and others until after East Germany had been reunited with West Germany, the fall of Communism in the Soviet Union and the declassification of documents from World War II in the West. It is only now that the final truth about World War II is becoming known to the people in the world.

Hitler und Hindenburg

HITLER LEARNS THE DEEP SECRETS OF BLACK MAGIC
Once Dietrich Eckart had met Hitler, he began to teach him more about black magic, and how to move in the supernatural realm of the spirit world. Being an occultist himself, Hitler was strongly drawn to this man and to his vision for Germany. In 1920 he resigned from the German Army as an intelligence agent and became the party's propaganda minister. He held this post until 1921, when he became the head of the party which had again changed its name and became known as "THE NATIONAL SOCIAL GERMAN LABOR PARTY," or for short "THE NAZI PARTY." In order to not raise any suspicion, the Thule Society and the Nazi Party became separate entities. The common German people were not to know that this was not an ordinary party, rather it was an occult organization fronting itself as a labor party.

Eckart was not an obscure black magic occultist as he had studied under the worst of the worst, the British Freemason and magician, ALEISTER CROWLEY (1875-1947). Crowley became a Freemason of the 33rd degree in the Scottish rite, when he was in Mexico City in 1900. At the same time he held the 97th degree in the Egyptian Misraim system. Crowley was a hardcore Devil worshiper who in 1904 referred to himself as "The Beast 666." This was in reference to the Antichrist as described in Revelation chapter 13. In 1907 Crowley had formed his own occult society called "ASTRUM ARGENTINUM" (Silver Star) after having been kicked out of the well-known occult British order "Golden Dawn." In 1912 he became a member of the Luciferian order OTO, which I have referred to earlier in this newsletter. For this order he took the name "BAPHOMET" which is another name for the Devil. In 1922 when the Grand Master Theodor Reuss died, Crowley through politics and force took over the OTO order and became the Grand Master in Ordo Templi Orientis. (Note: It is common for people in the occult to belong to more than one organization at the same time).

In 1922, Crowley founded a magic colony on the island of Sicily, which he called "ABBEY OF THELEMA." This colony became infamous for the perverse rituals conducted by Crowley; including the drinking of blood, perverse sexual acts, homosexuality and the sacrificial killing of young boys (Crowley boasted in later years that he had sacrificed some 150 young boys). It was to this colony that Dietrich Eckart came to be initiated into black magic by Crowley. A number of other German occultists, who later became close workers with Hitler, also came to the colony to learn black magic. As far as I know Hitler never came to the colony, but became a member of the OTO.

Hanussen

More mysterious hand signs

Having been trained by the most devoted Satanist in the world at this time, Eckart now set out to train Adolf Hitler in the art of black magic.10

Hitler also wanted to become more powerful in astrology so in 1920, for a few months, he took lessons from the Jewish astrologer Erik Jan Hanussen, whose real name was Hermann Herschel Steinschneider.

THE NAZI PARTY COMES TO POWER
Many Christians think that black magic is just a bunch of "hocus-pocus" which silly and stupid people try to use to gain some kind of power. But Christians must come to the understanding that black magic is real, and for awhile it will work very well for the person using it. The members of the Thule Society and the leadership in the Nazi Party were extremely serious in their devotion to black magic and in their worship of Lucifer. This power worked very well for them until it began to backfire on them around 1942. This was about the time the Christians in the United States began to pray in earnest for the defeat of Hitler and his armed forces.

Erik Jan Hanussen, a German Jew became a member of the Nazi party in 1931 and was appointed as the official "prophet" for the Nazi Party, and he also became Hitler's private seer. Hitler also founded an occult academy, for which Hanussen became the director. The German Jew Joseph Goebbels, who would become Nazi Germany's propaganda minister, took private lessons from Hanussen in the art of swaying masses of people to believe a lie and also in astrology. In time, Goebbels also became skilled in writing horoscopes. On March 1, 1933 Hanussen prophesied that Hitler would come to his end like a burning torch. A short time later Hanussen was murdered.

A number of astrologers were hired by the German state after the Nazis had taken power. Among the most well known was Karl Ernst Krafft, who worked for the S.S. Hitler had his own private astrologer, Berger, who was also a freemason. Wilhelm Wulff worked as an astrologer for the German Jew Heinrich Himmler, who was the chief of the S.S.

When events started to go sour for the German forces and the astrologers were not able to come up with any more good news, the Nazi leaders turned on them. Krafft was arrested in June 1941 and put in a concentration camp where he died just months before Germany surrendered.

British intelligence had picked up on the occult connections with the Nazis, and in 1940 Winston Churchill told the British defense department to employ the Belgian Jewish astrologist Louis de Wohl, who had fled from Nazi Germany in 1935. Wohl's job was to predict what kind of advice was given to Hitler by his astrologers.

GENERAL KARL HAUSHOFER (1869-1946)
The German Army two star General, Karl Haushofer (he was also a professor and head of the Institute of Geopolitics at the University of Munich) became an important teacher for Hitler in the art of war and the occult. In 1919, Haushofer had founded the occult order "BRUDER DES LICHTS" (Light brothers), which later in Berlin was changed to "THE VRIL SOCIETY." He was also a member of The Thule Society, and was hailed as the greatest magician in Germany. Haushofer taught that under the surface of the earth existed an advanced civilization (AGHARTI) which had access to the "vril energy.11

According to Haushofer this energy was the strongest magic power in the universe. In occult societies this energy was known as "ether energy" or "prana." With the help of this energy the power of gravitation could be reversed, and thus flying objects could be built using this power to make them fly. This method is also known as anti-gravity.

It is extremely interesting to note that toward the end of World War II German scientists had developed some strange flying machines using this technique. This technology was later to show up in the United States, which I will deal with later.

When I looked up Karl Haushofer in the Encylcopaedia Britannica 2004, I found the typical sanitation by the media controllers; not even a hint that the man was an occultist and that he was well known by the general population in Germany as the greatest magician of his time.

During World War I Haushofer became known as a man with occult powers, who could see into the future and know in advance what was going to happen. He used this occult power to find out when the opposing armed forces would attack, and he was able to point out what areas incoming enemy artillery fire was going to land. Among his other well known predictions was the time when the German Nazi troops would enter Paris in World War II (June 14, 1940), when the German occupation of the Rhineland was going to take place (March 7, 1936) and the death of President Roosevelt (April 12, 1945).

Prior to World War I, Haushofer served as an army officer with the German Embassy in Japan, where he learned about Buddhism. He retired from the German Army in 1919. Haushofer was married to a Jewess, but this never became an issue with Hitler. They had a son, Albrecht who became a professor of geopolitics at the University of Berlin. At the same time the son was also active in the German underground resistance against Hitler. In 1945 he was arrested and executed by the Gestapo.

When Hitler was in prison in Landsberg, Bavaria in 1924 after his failed takeover of the Bavarian government, Haushofer visited him regularly and taught him deeper insight into black magic. He also introduced Hitler to the subject of Geopolitics, which in reality is not a scientific subject, but rather an occult concept. The heart of Geopolitics is that the state is an actual organism with a natural right to grow (Lebensraum=living space). This reduces an individual person to a part of the state, and makes them to lose their individual rights and freedom. Instead of the state existing to support the rights and freedom of individuals, individuals live to support the state. This is a Kabbalistic concept and the foundation for all totalitarian regimes. Again we can see that the policies of the Third Reich (Nazi Germany) were not original thoughts from Hitler, but rather a compilation of concepts he was taught by the different occult instructors which he had. The concept of "Lebensraum" which is found in Hitler's book "Mein Kampf" (my struggle) was a concept he had learned from Haushofer.

THE TIBET CONNECTION
Haushofer believed that the country of Tibet was the seat of the most powerful magicians in the world. In his travels he had visited Tibet and come in contact with the ruling order in Tibet, "DGE-LUGS-PA" order (the yellow hat order). This order was founded in 1409 by the Tibetan monk DGE-DUN-GRUB-PA (1391-1475). He was teaching among other things reincarnation for himself, and that when he died ho would be reincarnated in baby boy, which it was the duty of the order to find and install him on the throne as spiritual and political ruler of Tibet.

The Tibetan form of Buddhism is also called "LAMAISM," derived from the titles given to the leaders of this religious sect "lamas". The head of the order has the title "DALAI LAMA." Each man who achieves the office of a lama is an accomplished "shaman" or magician, who in the west also would be known as a Master of black magic. The Dalai Lama, who is currently in exile from Tibet, is the most powerful master of them all and thus the chief magician. As this smiling man travels around the United States and holds speeches, meeting with religious leaders, including the Pope, few Christians are aware that this man is a powerful "witch" and "Satanist" and a sworn enemy of Jesus Christ. Christian missionaries who have tried to penetrate Tibet and preach the Gospel of Jesus Christ have all testified to the fact of the power that the lamas hold over the people in Tibet and the tremendous demonic powers ruling the nation.

In 1926, Haushofer suggested that Hitler start sending out research teams to Tibet to learn from the lamas about their magical power. Prior to this, the Soviet leader Lenin had sent a communist delegation into Tibet to try and learn about magic, but they were rejected by the leadership of the lamas.

The Tibetan leadership accepted the request from the Nazi party to be educated in Tibetan shamanism and a number of lamas were dispatched to Germany to work with the Nazis. When the Nazi regime collapsed in May, 1945, Soviet troops found thousands of Tibetans dead, most of them in S.S. uniforms. They had all committed suicide in order to safeguard their shamanistic knowledge.

After World War II had ended, the Allies started legal actions to hold Nazi leaders responsible for war crimes against humanity. An investigation was started against Haushofer, and when he learned about this, he and his wife committed suicide on March 13, 1946, rather than face justice.

For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord. Romans 6:23

THE OCCULT STATE OF NAZI GERMANY
What the reader must come to understand is that the hidden rulers behind the Nazi party and the men and women who made up the leadership in the party were serious about their devotion to worship Lucifer and they believed that by merging politics and technology with the occult, they would be able to conquer the world. For the first few years it looked like they were unbeatable, but in the end God intervened and Satan and his fallen angels had to drop their support for the Nazi regime. But just to add some more facts to the subject, look at the following:

V-Zeichen-SS.jpg (JPEG-Grafik, 399x294 Pixel)

THE S.S.
Heinrich Himmler, who was the leader of the S.S., had built a research laboratory in Konigsberg, the capital of East Prussia (now a part of Russia and renamed Kaliningrad). It was simply called "Konigsberg 13. Its purpose was to study magic from different nations around the world, and how to apply this magic to work for the German war effort. Himmler was extremely interested in geomancy, earth rays and energy lines.

The S.S. was officially an abbreviation of "Schutzstaffel" (Protective Echelon) but its secret occult name was "Schwartze Sonne" (black sun). It was built up as a black magic knight order with Himmler as its Grand Master. Its structure was a mixture of the Roman Catholic Jesuit Order and the Illuminati Order. Initiation into the S.S. always took place at midnight in magical rituals taken from freemasonry and the Knights Templar. All S.S. men had black uniforms with magical design. On the uniform was a skull and bones design in silver, and each S.S. member had a tattoo under his armpit of a skull and bones insignia. They were also given a magic ring, with a skull and bones on it. The insignia with two S’s on it, were shaped in the form of two lightning bolts. The headquarters for the S.S. was a castle, WEWELSBURG, located in northwest Germany and purchased by Himmler in 1934. This was the temple of the S.S. When the S.S. was formed in 1929, it had 300 members. In 1939 it had grown to 250,000 members. It was divided into two groups, the ALLGEMEINE S.S. (General) and the WAFFEN S.S. (armed forces). During its height of operation the Waffen S.S. numbered 39 combat divisions.

Perverse homosexual acts were part of the rituals of the S.S.12

DEUTSCHE AHNENERBE (THE INHERITANCE OF THE FOREFATHERS)
In 1933 the German professor and occultist Friedrich Hielscher founded a public institute for occult and cultural research. The institute later was led by the S.S. officer, Standartenfuhrer Wolfram Sivers. In 1939, the institute became part of the S.S. organization and under the direct leadership of Himmler. Usage of the pendulum over sea charts was developed and was used to find naval ships. It was also used to locate enemy combat troops. The methods worked for the people involved in this occult practice. (This is a similar occult practice as using a pendulum or a divining rod to do water witching).

This research center received a large amount of funding from the German government. At the end of the II World War, the research center was merged with the Vril Society. (This was a time when there were no satellites who could scan the earth, or high flying aircraft like the U-2 and later the SR-71).

32swastika.jpg (JPEG-Grafik, 260x254 Pixel)

THE SWASTIKA (THE FIRE CROSS)
This symbol did not originate with Hitler, but is an ancient symbol, coming in two forms, the male and the female. This occult symbol dates back to the old Sumerian culture and Babylon, which rose after the flood some 7000 years ago. Thus, it is a magical symbol which was resurrected by the demons after the flood. The word "swastika" is derived from the Sanskrit (the old classical Indo-Aryan language of the Hindus in India) and means "conductive to well-being." The old Viking religion used the left swastika as a symbol for the hammer of the "god" Thor. In the early years of Christianity the swastika was used as a symbol of Christ being all powerful, and it was known as "CRUX GAMMATA." (Idolatry mix came early into Christianity) In South and Central America the swastika was used in the black magic of the Maya civilization, and in North America it was used primarily by the Navajo Indians. In India the female swastika is used by the Hindus, Jainas and Buddhists as a symbol for the goddess of death, "Kali" which stands for destruction and death. It was also used by Jews in their burial sites dating back to the time before Christ, and it is also incorporated into Islam. In Japan the swastika represents a long life and well-being.

It is noteworthy to point out that the Russian Freemasons talked the Tzar into using the swastika on Russian ruble notes to bring "luck" in World War I. Once Lenin and his murdering hordes took over Russia in 1917, the swastika was kept on the currency and it was also used on the uniforms of the Red Army until 1922. Hitler became impressed with the female swastika used by the Communists and the May 20, 1920, it became the official symbol of the Nazi Party. It was put on the German flag in 1935.

NUERNBERG AND HEIL HITLER
Most people think that the Nazi greeting "Heil Hitler" was done because of Hitler's vanity. This is not true. Instead it was an occult mantra, used to harness the power of the masses of people and use this energy in the black magic of the Nazi Party. When the masses at the rallies cried out "Heil Hitler" they believed that there was a power surge from the people and when Hitler and other leaders on the platform stretched out their hands, the energy was transferred to the leader to be used in black magic. When the greeting was used between individuals, it was believed that spiritual energy flowed from one to the other. This occult practice was taken from the old Roman Empire, where the greeting was done to the ruling emperor.

The German city of Nuernberg (Nuremberg) was selected for the huge rallies of the Nazi party. These were held in 1923, 1927, 1929 and yearly from 1933 to 1938. Hundreds of thousands of party members gathered at these very elaborate events. There were marches of tens of thousands of soldiers, Hitler Youth, Gymnastic teams of both men and women, torchlight processions, grand music by huge bands, featuring Wagner (another occultist); electric flood lights were placed around the arena as huge pillars of light making it into a light cathedral, speeches of Nazi dignitaries and as a climax, Hitler himself speaking to the masses.

All occult practices that Hitler and his disciples adopted had come from sources outside the party. They managed to gather the worst and most potent black magic existing on the earthDEMOCRATS, STEM CELLS, AND CLONING: PART II and blend it into a religion, which became known as Nazism. Hitler kept sending expeditions to Tibet until 1943 to gather as much black magic information as possible.

Blonde haired and blue eyed S.S. men were brought to breeding centers to procreate likewise specially selected young German women. The secret centers of experimenting with genetic changes, was led by, among others, Josef Mengele (1911-1979), also known as "THE ANGEL OF DEATH." The latter worked at the extermination camp at Birkenau, where he selected people for medical experimentation who were destined to be killed. He did horrible things to human beings, but was especially fascinated by twins. But, there was much more hidden, such as working on mind control through trauma and splitting of personalities, making contact with "aliens," which in reality were demonic beings from whom they gleaned hidden technology.

All prophetic activity, magic research and producing and reading occult books wasdeclared illegal.

Another strange thing which I have not brought out in this newsletter is that the Communists in the Soviet Union were also deeply involved in black magic and the worship of Lucifer.

BLACK MAGIC ON UNIFORMS
The Nazi leadership went far and beyond what people could imagine. Once the Nazis had taken control in Germany, uniforms used in the Luftwaffe (air force) and Wehrmachtr (army) were redesigned. This applied to their field uniforms, not their dress uniforms. Tibetan black magic inspired patterns were used in the German combat camouflage uniforms, which the common German soldier did not know. The Nazi leadership believed that by having German soldiers dressed in black magic patterns, it would protect them from being hurt or killed. The current German armed forces in the 1980's changed their field uniforms back to the Nazi area design. The strange thing is that about the same time, the U.S. Armed forces adopted the old Nazi style camouflage patterns, and any person familiar with the American military will remember, that dress uniforms used in every day life on American bases suddenly were out, and all military personnel from the Air Force, Marines and Army are now always dressed in combat camouflage. There are probably no American service men who know why this change was made and what their uniforms symbolize. But the result is the same; these uniforms will attract evil spirits and that is the last thing an American soldier needs in his life. The most popular camouflage pattern used by American forces is called "woodland camouflage." It does not make sense that American military personnel not being in combat should wear this kind of uniform working in an office in the United States.

QUESTIONS TO ASK

As we have now established that Nazi Germany was an occult state, why was this not brought up at the Nuernberg trials in 1946?

Did the American military leadership know and understand the extent of the occult in Nazi Germany?

Who made the decision to bring certain Nazi war criminals to the U.S. and give them safe haven, while others were tried, executed or given long prison terms?

The answer to these questions will be answered in my next newsletter, but let me leave you with this transition bridge. The answer will lead us to the coming rise of the Antichrist and his regime.

OPERATION PAPER CLIP
This was a massive undertaking of the American government, which had prepared a plan to sweep into Germany and find and bring all Nazi rocket scientists, occult researchers, including medical doctors involved in gene research, mind control etc. to the United States.13 Tens of thousands of Nazi war criminals were selected and secretly moved to the United States, where these black magic trained technocrats were integrated into the American Military Industrial Complex. Wernher von Braun (1911-1979) and his German rocket team were part of this group and they were made known to the American people. But the rest of the most terrible occultists on the earth were hidden from the American people. The fallen angels, demons and the aliens in their flying discs like a dark cloud, flew out of Germany and descended upon the United States, resulting in frequent UFO sightings in 1946-47. It was to culminate in a hidden technology transfer.

PostPosted: Sun Nov 30, 2014 3:02 pm    Post subject: Liber Oz: Coincidence or Conspiracy? Reply with quote

Aleister Crowley, British occultist and MI5 spook, wrote Liber 77 (Oz) in 1941, the year in which construction began on the Pentagon, a building with five sides, shaped like the middle of a pentagram. The Pentagon is 77 feet high and lies 77 degrees west. Flight 77 crashed into the west face of the Pentagon on the morning of September 11, 2001, exactly 60 years after its groundbreaking.

Liber Oz takes its name from the letters Ayin and Zayin from the Hebrew alphabet. Ayin has a numerical value of 70 and Zayin 7, therefore Oz (pronounced ‘owes’ meaning ‘strength’) is equivalent to the number 77. In English gematria, the system of assigning number values to letters, Oz equals 41 (O=15, Z=26) the year of the Pentagon’s groundbreaking, 1941. Note that in the alphabet, the letters O and Z are preceded by the letters N and Y respectively, the initials of New York. Those four letters appear in this order: NO .. YZ, which spells ZYON backwards.

Liber Oz contains exactly 220 words. The kabbalistic tree of life has 10 sephirot and 22 paths. 10 x 22 = 220. The Twin Towers of New York each had 110 floors. 110 x 2 = 220. The phrase “Love is the law, love under will” in isopsephy (Greek gematria) is 93 93 93. Along with flight 93, flights 11 and 175 were hijacked and flown into the two towers. 11 + 175 = 186. 186/2 = 93. In English gematria, the word ‘love’ has a numerical value of 54 and ‘will’ has a value of 56. Love = 5 + 4 = 9 and will = 5 + 6 = 11. Therefore, 9/11 = love/will or love under will.

The four flight numbers added together + 310 (Osama Bin Laden was born on 3/10) equals 666, the number of the Great Beast, Aleister Crowley. “Do what thou wilt shall be the whole of the Law” is 444 in gematria, as is “The September Eleventh Terrorist Attacks”. September 11 corresponds with the first day of the year in the Coptic calendar and is 111 days before the end of the year in the Gregorian calendar. The number 111 has kabbalistic significance also. The word ‘strength’ (Oz) is 111 in gematria, as is New York.

All of this begs the question: is there really an occult/masonic connection with the events of 9/11? And was this event planned for many years before, perhaps as many as 60? One thing’s for sure, it marked the start of the WAR ON TERROR (11 letters) as declared by GEORGE W. BUSH (11 letters) whose alleged maternal grandfather was MEGATHERION (11 letters) who saw himself as the prophet of the AEON OF HORUS (11 letters). Perhaps there’s somebody in AFGHANISTAN (11 letters) who can tell us more. And to telephone somebody in that country, we first have to dial 93.

Satanists win right to put up ‘Hell’ display by nativity scene at Florida Capitol: http://www.washingtontimes.com/news/2014/dec/4/satanists-win-right-to- put-up-hell-display-by-nati/

'Florida agreed Thursday to let the Satanic Temple put up a holiday display at the Capitol, effectively putting to end a First Amendment lawsuit being filed by Americans United for Separation of Church and State.

The state had previously denied the satanists from building a display of an angel falling into the fires of Hell right next to a more Christian-themed one of a nativity scene. But the Americans United for Separation of Church and State — citing the Hobby Lobby case — said it would sue on behalf of the satanists, on the grounds that the state couldn’t constitutionally keep out a display it deemed “offensive.”...'

Getting more and more blatant, but it's ruled America for a very long time, and not just America!

Stash of Books from the Witch Library of Nazi Chief Himmler Found in Prague
http://www.ancient-origins.net/news-general/stash-books-witch-library- nazi-chief-himmler-found-prague-005570?nopaging=1

A collection of 13,000 occult and witchcraft books has been found recently in the National Library of the Czech Republic in Prague. It belonged to Heinrich Himmler, a SS Nazi chief. The collection was forgotten in the library since at least the 1950s. According to the Daily Mail, the Norwegian Masonic researcher, Bjørn Helge Horrisland said that the books had been mostly stolen and collected during World War II.
The collection contains texts connected with witchcraft and occultism. Some of the volumes are very rare. The value of all of the books is unknown. They were gathered as the Nazis were searching everywhere for texts connected with magic and tried to accumulate everything in one place. Some of the books were taken from the Norwegian order of Freemasons in Oslo.
SS Nazi chief Heinrich Himmler took about 6,000 books from the Norwegian Order of Freemasons as part of his research into witch hunts.

In 1935, the SS created a special section called ''H'' (H-Sonderkommando, so named for the first letter of the German word Hexe, meaning ''witch''). This section was looking for documents on witchcraft, the occult, and the supernatural. They sought the information amongst at least 260 libraries and archives. Their work took place from 1935 to 1944. As a result, they accumulated the greatest concentrated collection on witches and their persecution in medieval Germany. This was the largest survey of witch-trial records to be found in the history of Europe.

Horrisland, a Norwegian Freemason historian, participated in the identification of some of the books in Prague. After he recognized many of them as ones which belonged to the central Norwegian Order of Freemasons library in Oslo, he summarized: “In all likelihood, many of these books were part of Himmler’s so-called ‘witch library’.
The books were collected for the institute Ahnenerbe, which was also created to research the archaeological and historical roots of the Aryan race. It was founded on July 1, 1935 by Himmler, Herman Wirth, and Richard Walther Darre. Apart from gathering texts, they also conducted experiments and expeditions to prove that they were the ancestors of the Nordic population which had once ruled the world.

Heinrich Himmler believed that the power of the old occult masters would help the Nazis to rule the world. He followed the Witch-Cult hypothesis, created by Margaret Murray, a famous researcher in this field. He believed in a scientific point of view on a witchcraft and with time he became obsessed with it. He trusted that the Celto-Germanic Nature religion would bring him all that he desired - but the simple version of purely traditional aspects was not enough for him. The Nazis created the dirtiest and most corrupt version of ''witchcraft'' to have ever existed.

Himmler thought that the actions of the Catholic church’s Inquisition were purposefully trying to repress an indigenous German pagan nature-based religion, völkisch, in a conspiracy against the Aryan race. He even tried to find proof for his own magical roots, and according to biographers on Himmler, he discovered that one of his ancestors was burned as a witch. His anger at these acts appeared in anti-Christian propaganda. He began to hate Christianity and believed that he owed his “successes” against it to the ones who were murdered for having a knowledge of magic.
According to Georg Luck, the cult which Himmler followed had its roots in late antiquity. In his book, Arcana Mundi: Magic and the Occult in the Greek and Roman Worlds, he described the basis of the beliefs which became an important part of the political life of Nazis. The cult worshiped the Horned God of Celts and a Greco-Roman Pan/Faunus. It was a combination of gods which gave roots to a new deity, an early conception of the Devil.

Himmler is credited as a founder of ''Esoteric Hitlerism''. He was also deeply involved in astrology, and tried to construct a new pseudo-Germanic Neopagan religion, based on a cult created in his imagination. He approved officially pagan holidays and manipulated the facts connected with traditional pagan cults.

Researchers still debate about the roots of these behaviors. It is uncertain why these kinds of religious actions and collecting witchcraft and occult books became so important for the people who worked for Adolf Hitler.

All of the Nazis, including the Furher, attended ceremonies of the new cult. Many of them happened in the castle Houska, 47 km (29.2 miles) north of Prague. Built in the 13th century, the castle still contains a Gothic chapel, a green chamber with Late-Gothic paintings, and a knights’ drawing room. According to local folklore, it is believed that Houska Castle also contains a ''Gate to Hell''.

The devil worshipping viscount and his VERY naughty party trick with a parrot
The shocking and outrageous life of Evan Morgan, Viscount Tredegar
By CHRISTOPHER WILSON

http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-2343546/The-devil-worshipping- viscount-VERY-naughty-party-trick-parrot.html

Feathered friend: The Viscount circa 1935, with Blue Boy the macaw perched on his shoulder at a garden party at Tredegar House

He was one of the richest peers of the realm, a multi-millionaire with such a stash of inherited wealth he never needed to think about working.

But Evan, Viscount Tredegar, was more than your average spoilt aristocrat — he was one of the most riotously outrageous and toxic eccentrics ever to emerge from the English upper classes.

He studied for the priesthood, but practised black magic and befriended sinister occultist Aleister Crowley.

Even though he married an English actress and a Russian princess, he was a promiscuous homosexual.

He wrote poetry and dressed like Shelley, yet he was so juvenile that he trained his parrot Blue Boy to climb the inside of his trouser-leg and pop its head out of his flies.

The bizarre viscount even ran a homing-pigeon scheme for military intelligence during World War II, but was court-martialled for revealing its secrets to two Girl Guides.

And all around him, as he made his wayward path through life, friends had the mysterious habit of dying.

‘His friendship was a kind of curse,’ says William Cross, author of a new biography of the Welsh peer.

Evan Tredegar became a figure of horrified fascination to High Society Britain in the Twenties and Thirties as he pursued his twin lusts — higher learning and sex.

What else would you expect from a man whose mother believed herself to be a kingfisher and built bird’s nests big enough to sit in?

The dystopian world that Evan Frederic Morgan, 2nd Viscount Tredegar, built for himself was only made possible by colossal wealth.

When he came of age, the vast Welsh estate his family had owned since the 14th century was bringing in the equivalent of £65,000 a day — or £24 million a year.

Home was Tredegar House, a ghostly, depressingly ugly pile near Newport in South Wales.

Evan’s father had made himself useful during the First World War by handing over his private yacht to the Royal Navy — on condition that he was appointed its captain.

Money rather than service bought the gold braid with which he festooned himself — so while he was still a schoolboy, Evan learned that a title, and colossal wealth, could get you anything you wanted.

At Eton, he forged the friendships that were to shape his screwball life. His best friend Peter Churchill, a cousin of Winston, spent part of his childhood in North Africa and claimed to have sold sexual favours to men in return for pocket-money.

W hile still at Eton the pair became pageboys to the royal court at Windsor at a time when, author Cross claims, ‘mothers of vulnerable sons were known to insist their cherished boys steer well clear of the well-known paedophiles at court’.

But it was too late — both boys had already acquired a preference for their own sex, and before long Evan was kicked out of Eton under the inevitable cloud.

It further counted against him that while at school he had created a circle of black-magic enthusiasts.

Inspired by Peter Churchill’s tales from North Africa of temples, casbahs, souks and arcades where magicians and tricksters plied their trade, the boys dabbled in rites and rituals which were to become a central part of Evan’s life.

With no need to work, Evan settled on becoming a poet.

Moving in the arty circle centred on the bohemian Cafe Royal in London, he became friends with the painter Augustus John and the writer Ronald Firbank, a dandy with red-lacquered fingernails.

During this period Evan developed a taste for partying and buying sex from working-class rent boys.

The viscount was no looker — Virginia Woolf described him as ‘a little red absurdity with a beak of a nose, no chin, and with the general likeness of a callow but student bantam c*** that has run to seed’.

And in the helter-skelter world of Britain after World War I, filled with flappers and cocktails and drug addicts, Evan was constantly in search of newer, darker, sensations.

He was fatally attracted to dangerous people.

The occultist Aleister Crowley was known to society as ‘the wickedest man in the world’ and in the Twenties people were genuinely terrified by the mention of his name — a byword for all that was mad, bad and dangerous to know.

Born the son of a brewer in Leamington Spa, Crowley, who called himself ‘The Great Beast 666’, had built up a terrifying reputation as a disciple of the Devil.

His stated purpose was to destroy the country’s religious and spiritual equilibrium.

Little wonder then that the vicious Viscount, with his schoolboy dabblings in the occult, should hasten to Crowley’s side — the pair met for the first time in Paris.

Later Crowley went to stay at Tredegar House where Evan proudly revealed his Black Magick room — ‘far greater than I thought!’ marvelled Crowley.

Despite his ostentatiously weird life — in his garden he kept a boxing kangaroo, a honey bear and a baboon, while in his bed he kept rabbits — Evan Morgan was still considered by ambitious mothers to be one of the country’s most eligible bachelors.

Only when girls got close to him did they realise how completely impossible life at Tredegar House would be.

However, Lois Sturt, daughter of the land-rich Lord Alington, was not so choosy.

She had some of the same madness that infected Evan Tredegar and a whole swathe of the post-war Bright Young People. Needy, nervy, self-centred and eccentric, she was also pretty, sexy and willing to overlook Evan’s homosexuality. They married when she was 28 and he 35.

But it was doomed from the start. Lois had already developed an addiction to drugs which would kill her before long.

When they married in Knightsbridge, the crowds had to be held back by police, but the high-society union between Lois and Evan was not what it seemed.

Each agreed the other could sleep with whom they pleased as long as it didn’t interfere with their life together.

But Evan’s relentless all-male promiscuity and his love of rent boys soon rattled Lois, and before long they parted.

Later he married the shapely Princess Olga Sergievna Dolgorouky, a refugee scarred by her escape from the Russian Revolution, but otherwise an innocent abroad.

The marriage was annulled, unsurprisingly, on the grounds of his non-consummation after three years.

Evan showed far greater devotion to his menagerie at Tredegar than he did to either of his wives.

Birds were a big part of his life. His Australian parrot, though described by Evan as ‘witless and uncontrollable’, was nothing of the sort.

After teaching it the trick of crawling up the inside of his trouser leg and poking its head out of his flies, the Viscount promptly walked into the Cafe Royal and performed the routine in front of a packed house.

One of the onlookers recorded that ‘the effect on old ladies present can be imagined’.

Periodically, Evan would decide that he must do something serious with his life.

When war was declared in 1939, he managed to get himself taken on by MI14, the secret service department detailed to handle carrier pigeons bringing back messages from frontline troops in France.

So unused was he to the discipline which goes with military work, that he let two Girl Guides look at the map used to plan the 1942 Allied attack on Dieppe — which, coincidentally, turned out to be one of the war’s greatest military disasters.

Such was the horror of superior officers when they learned that he had divulged highly secret troop deployment details — even though it was only to a couple of teenage girls — that Tredegar was court-martialled.

He was found guilty and banished to an honorary post in the Welsh Home Guard, but even that small responsibility proved too much for him.

Hopeless in war, the Viscount remained equally rudderless in peace.

Throughout his life the ostensibly high-minded Evan described himself as a poet, modelling himself on Shelley and even dressing as the Romantic poet, but he failed to attract the praise of any but the most sycophantic critics.

Rich though he was, Evan could not buy literary success — and rich though he remained, he could no longer buy friendship in the way he once had.

Indeed, his friendship was something of a curse.

Those who were close to Evan seemed to die in their droves — often tragically young.

First was Guy Colebrooke, a fellow royal pageboy, who died aged 27.

Then Ronald Firbank died of lung cancer at the age of 40.

He was followed by fellow-drinker Sir Guy ‘Fatty’ Laking, who succumbed to alcohol poisoning at 26.

One of Evans’s lovers, the Earl of Lathom, keeled over from tuberculosis brought on by a dissipated life, while another lover, the Hon James Rodney, was killed in a house fire.

Friends Peter Watson, a wealthy art patron, and Sir Johnnie Philipps both drowned in their baths.

And another friend, the artist Nina Hamnett, plunged out of a window, impaling herself on the railings 40ft beneath.

There were suicides, too: the artist Kit Wood, the composer Peter Warlock, fellow Etonian Brian Howard and writer Richard Rumbold.

Even his first wife’s brother, the Hon Gerard Sturt, killed himself.

His sister Gwyneth succumbed to drug abuse and her body was found washed up on the Thames shore in 1924.

And so the party — that gay, abandoned, reckless party of parrots, poetry and promiscuity — eventually ended.

Evan Morgan, whose riches so completely detached him from life, finally parted company with it on April 27, 1949 — a victim to cancer at the early age of 55.

The trouser-climbing parrot survived him.
