OPPONENTS OF EU TREATY ACCUSED OF BEING 'TERRORISTS'

Eurosceptics have been branded "terrorists" just days before Tony Blair prepares to fly to Brussels to smuggle in the new EU constitution by the back door.

Critics of the EU’s secret plans to bring back the failed European constitution by stealth at this week’s summit were blasted by the Italian President, Giorgio Napolitano.

The Italian head of state told a news conference in Siena last week that "those who are anti EU are terrorists".

And he attacked eurosceptics who warn that the promised new EU treaty will go too far in eroding the powers of member states, saying: "It is psychological terrorism to suggest the spectre of a European superstate."

His comments emerged as EU foreign ministers gather in Luxembourg today to negotiate the new treaty to replace the failed EU constitution, ahead of a summit of EU leaders in Brussels on Thursday.

Ahead of what will be his last major political event before he hands over to Gordon Brown, Mr Blair has been forced to deny widespread claims that he will seek to sign up to a new treaty which will revive the key planks of the constitution, which was doomed after it was rejected by French and Dutch voters in referendums in 2005.

It is psychological terrorism for critics of the EU to suggest the spectre of a European superstate

Downing Street issued a list of Britain’s "red line" issues where Mr Blair will refuse to hand over powers to Brussels, such as the veto on criminal justice and labour law and Britain’s seat on the UN security council, but refused to offer British voters a referendum on the treaty.

But critics say Mr Blair is, like most other EU leaders, determined to bring the failed EU constitution in by the back door by simply renaming the document as an "amending treaty" and slimming down its original 500 pages.

Campaigners for national referendums on the proposed treaty were left outraged when President Napolitano spoke out last Monday alongside the German President, Horst Kohler, who nodded in agreement at his comments.

President Kohler also described the tactics of eurosceptics as "populistic, demagogic campaigning".

The words of the two men were seen by many in their home countries as a thinly veiled attempt to link euroscepticism with the demagoguery and populism of the fascist regimes of Adolf Hitler and Benito Mussolini.

Mr Blair’s claim that the new treaty is not simply a re-hash of the rejected constitution were dismissed by eurosceptic campaigners, who pointed to the statements of other European politicians in recent weeks.

German Chancellor Angela Merkel, in a letter to fellow leaders, revealed last wek that most countries want to keep the "substance" of the constitution.

And former French president Valéry Giscard d’Estaing, a key architect of the EU constitution, said last week: "I am strongly opposed to a mutilated treaty. The European Council must establish a clear road map and a clear mandate to achieve the process for the ratification of the constitutional treaty."

Meanwhile, German Foreign Minister Frank-Walter Steinmeier recently said "closed-door negotiations among the 27 EU governments were making progress in deciding on what to do with the constitution", adding: "Everyone wants to push this forward."

UKIP leader, Nigel Farage MEP, said: "This treaty is the constitution by another name. The agenda has always been to sneak it in under another guise. It is a deliberate and deceitful attempt to prevent free and fair referendums not just in Britain but all European countries.

"It will have enormous adverse implications for Britain, yet it is just being bulldozed through. Blair will sign away our future - just days before he leaves No 10 - and his legacy will be a hand grenade with the pin pulled out."

Julia Hartley-Brewer reports:
Quote:

Utterly outrageous!!! Twisted Evil

This is 21st Century Fascism rearing its ugly head and will likely be more commonplace in the semantics and propoganda of those pushing hard for the New World Order.

Def. Terrorism:- "The use or threatened use of violence on a systematic basis to achieve political objectives". (Evans & Newnham, The Penguin Dictionary of International Relations 1998.)

Other definitions of terrorism include: "Terrorism is the liquidation of innocent people without reason..." Der Spiegel 1985

Kegley & Wittkopf define 'terrorism' as: Criminal acts and threats against a targeted actor for the purpose of arousing fear in order to get the target to accept the "terrorists" demands. (World Politics - Trend & Transformation. 2001)

According to the above definitions of 'Terrorism' and many others (Schmid 1983 says that there are over one hundred different definitions of the term - Political Terrorism: A Research Guide to Concepts, Theories, Data Bases and Literature ) there is a general concept of agreement that terrorism is the threat and use of violence to achieve a political end. Therefore, the highly eroneous label of describing anti-EU advocates as "Terrorist" by Napolitano is slander and should be dealt with in a court of International Law.

Have the NWO since Sep 11, 2001 re-defined the term "terrorist" or is this pattern of false accusation by political leaders the beginning of what we had feared?

Gordon Brown’s people have let it be known that there will be no referendum on his watch because it would be “unwinnable”. What if they thought the same about elections?

This treasonable summit is obsessing me - are they about to submit the veto AND transfer law-making power to the unelected little Hitlers (Commission and ERT) in Brussels?

A bastion of rottenness and contempt for us all
Thunderer

As the resident libertarian Marxist on these pages, I do often find myself in the same camp as traditional Eurosceptics. I am all for abolishing the British monarchy, don’t much care whose head is on our currency (so long as it’s not Jamie Oliver) and am rather more pro-European than most professed Europhiles on an issue such as free immigration.

But there is a big difference between Europe the continent, with its dynamic, civilised peoples, and the “legal personality” of Official Europe, a dead weight around the neck of the civilised world. Time to raise an argument not heard enough in this clichéd debate: for Europe, but not the EU.

The EU supra-state has become a bastion of all that is rotten in politics, its first instinct always to regulate, restrain and ban. The EU mindset is now the opposite of the spirit of the European enlightenment. For years, politicians of both the Left and Right have retreated from the battlefield behind the Euro-barricades, trusting the judges and commissioners more than their own people.

Then in 2005, French and Dutch voters stunned their arrogant rulers by rejecting the EU Constitution. Now Valéry Giscard d’Estaing, the former French President and architect of that constitution, admits that the public is being led “to adopt, without knowing it, the proposals that we dare not present to them directly”. What part of “non” don’t these aristos understand?

No 10: No vote on new EU treaty

Downing Street said the style of the new treaty meant the referendum promised in 2004 would no longer be appropriate

Poland ‘is ready to wreck everything if our voting demands are not met’

Despite the talk of divisions between EU leaders at this week’s summit, the one thing they seem united about is that their agreement need not be put to a referendum. The European Commission chief has warned Tony Blair not to give into “populism”. For his part, Mr Blair now even admits that he didn’t really agree that there was a need for any vote on the constitution, despite Labour’s manifesto commitment. (That echoes the high-handed attitude of the Conservative Government that signed the Maastricht treaty creating the EU.) And Gordon Brown’s people have let it be known that there will be no referendum on his watch because it would be “unwinnable”. What if they thought the same about elections?

All of these arguments drip with patronising contempt for the peoples of Europe, apparently considered too fickle or just too thick to grasp the subtleties of the Euro-elite’s ways. When much of the political class unites to tell us that there is no need for any controversy or public consultation, it surely ought to be the cue for a big debate and some serious boat-rocking.

Perhaps it is time for a vote, not on how to make us fit for Euro citizenship, but on whether the EU is fit to have all of us as members. What Europe needs is not a quietly agreed peace treaty, but a war of words; not a deal stitched up by the Euro-aristocracy, but a democratic revolution.

the Euro as the single currency for all countries and without uniform taxation the ideal of a unified Europe is a pipe-dream. Like the rat in the cage on a wheel which runs faster and faster to get at its food but never reaches it, the attempt at introducing a unified Europe is impossible for the contradictions and the standards of living are so wide that they resemble the same differences between the USA and Brazil nearly 100 to 1 in wages for instance.

The attempt at only using 3-4 languages will only breed contempt to those nations with languages spanning thousands of years.

Without a common political party across national frontiers, common economic union cannot work for the objections will override the agreements.

BROWN'S RED LINES WON'T STOP US BEING TRICKED INTO EUROPE
Sunday October 28,2007
Jimmy Young

WERE HE not being somewhat economical with the truth, it might be possible to feel a little sympathy for Gordon Brown as he attempts to defend the indefensible.

The Prime Minister has the unenviable – and many would say the almost impossible – task of selling to the British people a twice-rejected European Constitution thinly disguised as a Treaty.

The whole process of “ever-closer integration into Europe” is a story of misrepresentation and deceit. Jean Monnet, known as the “Father of Europe”, reasoned that he could achieve his ultimate goal by pretending that all he wanted was a Common Market. Edward Heath joined in the plot by concealing the fact that the real aim was to create a United States of Europe. The deceptions have continued ever since.

http://www.express.co.uk/posts/view/23439/Brown-s-red-lines-won-t-stop -us-being-tricked-into-Europe-

Do not be fooled by Mr Brown’s claims that the hated Constitution has been replaced by an entirely different Treaty. That is untrue.

Not only did the Labour-dominated House of Commons European Scrutiny Committee find that the proposed treaty is “substantially equivalent” to the constitution rejected by French and Dutch voters in 2005, but political leaders right across Europe have also comprehensively destroyed the claims of Mr Brown.

The Prime Ministers of Spain and Luxembourg and Finland’s Europe Minister all agree with Germany’s Chancellor, Angela Merkel who says, “The substance of the constitution is preserved. That is a fact.” And the Prime Minister’s boast that his so-called “red lines” will protect us from the worst effects of the constitution have been contemptuously dismissed as red herrings.

Mr Brown can’t even claim that Britain is out of step with the rest of Europe because that argument has also been demolished. A recent Harris opinion poll revealed that huge majorities of up to 75 per cent of Britons, Germans, Spaniards and French are protesting that they should have a vote on the treaty. Gordon Brown has joined the rest of Europe’s elitist leaders in being completely out of touch with their citizens.

Referring to the European Constitution two years ago Tony Blair and Gordon Brown said, “We shall put it to the British people in a referendum and campaign wholeheartedly for a ‘yes’ vote”. That is what you promised Prime Minister, and that is what you must do. After all, if you can convince us that the treaty is a good thing for us, you might even win.

The final piece of advice for Mr Brown comes from Irish Prime Minister, Bertie Aherne who says: “If you believe in something why not let your people have a say in it?”

You must heed Mr Aherne’s wise words Prime Minister and give us the referendum you promised us. If you renege on your solemn promise to the British people, they will never feel able to trust any promise you make to them in the future.
