An acquaintance suggested framing Neo's passport from The Matrix (interrogation scene, exactly before Smith says '...the other life is lived in computers') and zooming in.

Actually it is impossible to be sure from the image posted that this is what is written on the passport. Do you have a clearer image or can you direct us to one?

Well I took a photo from the actual DVD to confirm this to myself (the first photo was from a Windows Movie Maker clip).

There is no doubt in my mind that the value in the date field in the lower right corner is 11 SEP / SEP 01.

His date of birth is 13 SEP 71

11 SEP 01 is the passport's expiry date

Good call, 13 SEP 71 seems to be the value in the date field at the top.

11 SEP 01 makes more sense as an expiry date for Mr. Anderson.

What's the date field in the middle?

The expiry date is 11 Sept 2001.
It was made 2 yrs before. I think 911 could have been planned many years before. See the talisman folding dollar bills that ensure the American people were subconsciusly focussed on making it happen.

To bring this thread, the right brained side of the story, the appearence of this particular date on Neo's passport may be simply illustrating the connectivity of all things.

Before we indulge ourselves in Con Theorum (though it is sometimes good to) we should remember that our incredible universe reflects everything and perhaps this remarkable synchronicity is nothing more than an indication of this process at work.

Maybe you should have expected this Mr Anderson?

If, in a movie (the first of its kind) about parallel realities, the expiry date on the hero's passport is the exact same day that a new parallel reality (the age of the 'War on Terror') is created for the public mind......then I would say that must be more than just a coincidence.

Someone, somewhere told the guy who was making that image to put the 9/11 date there. It is obvious that there must have been a core of insiders that knew what was going to go down on 9/11 and thought that this would be an amusing joke....or maybe such brazen cheek is considered to have occult value.

Certainly, a Mr. Rockefeller knew what was going to happen on 9/11.

- of the specific year (2001)

- would be brought up in this specific movie (dealing with the control grid around us) out of all the movies made in 1999

- in the context of a countdown sequence (Birth 13 Sep, Effect 12 Sep, Expiry 11 Sep)

- and in a context where Thomas Anderson 'expires' and Neo is 'born' on 11 Sep 01?

There can be no other plausible explanation than foreknowledge on this one.
