Bombs on UK-US planes...More convenient "terrorism"

Breaking news on BBC.....police appear to have uncovered a massive plot to detonate bombs contained in hand-luggage on flights between Britain and America. Details are still sketchy but reports suggest unprecedented security at all UK airports. Passengers can expect lengthy delays coupled with stringent searches and will be permitted to take on board only essential travel documents in a clear plastic bag. Many people from both within London and beyond have been arrested.

It wouldn't surprise me if another Lockerbie happens today or in the next few days.....just to beef up the storyline and to ramp up the fear amongst the unthinking electorate. The proposed war with Iran is likely to start in October - this report about Syria's foreign minister looking for a war with Israel came out on Monday.

As a result of this incident, the UK threat level has risen from "Severe" to "Critical."

Surely, even with a "Severe" threat level, it would have been highly prudent to have already instigated a "zero hand-luggage" policy?
Particularly in the aftermath of 9/11 and especially in light of 7/7.

Unless of course, the "threat" was never real.

In that case, everything makes sense.

This is massive news.

Jim Sheridan, Scottish MP for Paisley and Renfrewshire North, is a Parliamentary Private Secretary to the Minister of Defence, Des Browne, and has quit "over the government's policy over the Middle East" and the governments use of UK airports, Prestwick in particular.

(Incidentally, these US flights are now refuelling at Mildenhall, Suffolk)

I watched Sheridan on the news late last night where he said that others are planning to resign too.

This claim, not surprisngly, has not been reported by the BBC.

Bliar under masive pressure over Lebanon.

Over 130 MP's, half of them Labour are pressing to recall parliament to discuss the crisis in Lebanon.

Bliar increasingly isolated in his own party.

Terror being used as a political tool ?

So the alleged plot involved bombs in hand luggage.

We all know that hand luggage goes through x-ray machines, twice.

Are these the type of hand luggage bombs that cannot be detected with the x-ray machines through which all hand luggage is scanned ?

No metal parts whatsoever ? No wires, all plastic and undetectable eh ?Hmmm

Mothers to drink baby milk as proof that formula is in fact not explosives ?

Purely by coincidence of course, the Guardian has an interesting news story today about John Reid claiming that anti-terror critics "just don't get it" and that more "anti-terror" legislation is on the way in the Autumn.

From bombs made in baths using home made chemicals that can be bought in your local chemist to undetectable micro bombs in hand luggage with no metal parts ?

John Reid announced the new JTAC alert system only last month.

Are they "gaming" the new system ?

Great system eh, they raise the "threat" level after they announce they have discovered a terrorist plot, yet they have been doing this investigation "for months".

Hmmm.

Watch out for some bad news being buried soon or is it already being buried ?

Just so we know that these are home grown bombs from home grown terrorists. Again.

Therefore "we cannot stop this from happening", " we cannot protect you" unless we impose more "anti terror" legislation.

Woke up this morning to the news, my first reaction was this is more of the same spin to keep the great unwashed in fear and terror, then Reid and that other guy (transport minister, can't remember his name!!) come in to rescue us all like two white knights. Very happy to read these posts and find others think similarly to me.

I have no doubts that we shall, in a few weeks, hear, but only though the internet news, that all these "suspect terrorists" were quietly released without charge, and the thing will be left to just be forgotten in the foggy mists of time.

Remember the "Old Trafford" terrorist, and the four who were caught running into a hospital, and the "Ricin like substance" in that flat in London?? Yup, so do I!!

When will the population start getting wise to this spin and deceipt?

And one last thought, knowing that planes are subjected to reasonably high levels of security, would not a terrorist planning a bombing try somewhere else, like a ferry, crowded shopping mall, theatre or something similar?? It is always planes, because that is what we are being manipulated to think.

A) Take your device to a gathering where there are hundreds and hundreds.....thousands of them; a football match, a rock concert perhaps, a bustling London market, where security is light to non existent; then let 'em have it?

B) Take it to a major airport, in a very small bag, which you KNOW will be searched and or x-rayed, where explosive sniffing dogs can run their clever little noses all over your sweating body and your naughty parcel, where security and customs officials are trained to spot signs of nervousness and anxiety, and CCTVs are able to track your every move... in an attempt to board a plane which can hold a comparitively much smaller target group than option A?

If your answer is B, might I kindly suggest that perhaps you left terrorism college far too early and should return forthwith.

One would have hoped that the tip off came from within the Muslim community itself which would highlight the difference between moderate Muslims and the extremists.
