Yet another "terror plot" has been discovered today with police arresting 8 suspects in Birmingham in the early hours of this morning.

Let's just see what evidence comes out over the next few days. I'm personally not so flippant as to imagine that this is bogus as I have no doubt that unhinged individuals do bizarre things.

Yup Mark, here we go again, terror raids every other week, yet oddly enough, no terror trials every other week. Doesn't anyone find that strange in this country?? How asleep the general populace seem to be.

Last week two men arrested on "terror raids". What was the police quoting as the evidence they had found? Ahhh yes, now I recall, something to do with the names of files saved on their computers.

Watch this space folks, I'm not a terrorist, but, as an avid disbeliever of the official 911 commission's explanation, and having an extreme suspicion as to why Blair has not called an inquiry into 7/7 (let's face it, he usually calls an inquiry when someone farts at the wrong time), could it not be construed that some things I, and others on this forum, write about could be deemed "terrorism" now?

This must have been what the McCarthy witchhunts were like in America - oh, there's that name again, the champions of freedom and democracy!!

I think along with 911 and Holocaust revisionism, McCarthy revisionism is also in order. In fact, every thing needs to be revised.

Under section 58 of the Terrorism Act 2000 it is an offence to posess or create electronic records that could be useful to a terrorist.

The only permissible defence against this charge is that the accused has to prove they had a "good reason" for posessing those records.

The onus is therefore on the accused to prove they are innocent and not on the CPS to prove they are guilty.

Brilliant.

All of this achieved with hardly a whimper, while the likes of 9 million settle down with their diet cokes to watch a Jade Goody interview.

All the more reason to publish any information you have in the public domain so that there is a public record to support any assertion you might have to rely on in court.

Also, secure and frequent backups, off site are a must, lest you open yourself up to the now, routine susbsequent charges of child pornography when their case collapses.

Sky are now speculating that the "new direction in terrorism" could mean that the plan was to kidnap someone and publish videos of it "Iraq" style.

Tim Marshall of Sky News responds to some of the emails being received doubting the veracity of this story and claiming that it is a response to Lord Levy being arrested last night.

Something is happening.

People are responding with their own thoughts instead of the TV propaganda stories, so much so, that Sky has to respond immediately, a swift denunciation in order to quash the "conspiracy theories".

Tim Marshall already mentioned that "police sources" have told him that this plot involved a kidnapping of an unnamed person in their 20's and the plan was to behead that person and publish the video to terrorise us.

He then mentions Daniel Pearl.

He didn't mention that Daniel Pearl went to Pakistan to investigate the 9/11 money trail and the Pakistani MI5, the ISI.

As a result of his investigations Daniel Pearl was kidnapped and beheaded.

Exactly 60 months ago.

Sky News are now telling us that this plot was to kidnap a serving soldier in the British Army who is a Muslim.

This now references the case of Abu Bakr Mansha, the "terrorist" with an IQ of 69 who was arrested for posession of a copy of the Sun which had a front page story about the British soldier Corporal Mark Byles who was decorated with the Military Cross for heroism in Iraq.

Abu Bakr Mansha was a friend of the two brothers Mohammed Abdul Kahar and Abdul Koyair who were arrested in the infamous Forest Gate raid last year. The brothers were visitors of Abu Bakr Mansha in prison.

Abu Bakr Mansha was convicted under the Terrorism Act 2000 of possessing information "likely to be useful to a person committing or preparing an act of terrorism", on 22.12.2005

So, the only other case, the first in fact, that allegedly involved a conspiracy to target a serving British Army soldier by Muslim terrorists here in the UK resulted in a conviction 9 days, 1 month and 1 year ago today.

Tony my old mucker these terror arrests have just happened so all I was trying to do was stop speculation getting out of control.

As for Mark's comment about the 911 relationship he has yet to respond as to whether his comments were serious. A study of sacred geometry and an insight into how the inner and outer mazes manifest may explain the seeming connection between numbers and events. Alternately some may find Carl Jung's theory of syncronicity more easier to understand.

I also think Mark is probably old enough to tell me to shut it without you sticking your nose in. We still haven't forgotten your knee-jerk style of moderation with regards to Tele's banning. If you tell me Mark made a complaint should I start packing my bags?

Oh and by the way what, may I ask, are you adding to this thread?

I'm still waiting for you to give me some more info on that most excellent board game you plugged on your Alex Jones interview!

Interesting narrative being threaded by the usual array of experts here.

Homeland Security is being touted as the solution to the oh so very busy and not fit for purpose Home Office, that Reid has been charged to break up. Curious fact that we have a Tory opposition spokesman on Homeland Security when no such department even exists yet.

Dr John Gearson, Kings College, London, has just referenced the current trial of the failed Chappatti bomb plot where the accused are alleged to have purchased large quantities of Hydrogen Peroxide and nobody noticed. He said that we are all asked to look out for things that are suspicious, but "we may now have to take that to another level".

There is a dark irony to all this which states that if these chaps were going to behead a Muslim soldier you might have expected the powers that be to let it happen! But we'll have to see what happens as the suspects may well be released soon. If they are released then it makes the police etc look very stupid.

Today's media categorised "kidnap, torture and beheading plot" requires a response to the qui bono reflex.

1. Muslims are further marginalised.

2. British military personnel have to watch their backs at home too.

3. Increased sympathy for British military generally.

4. UK Muslims will now specifically target Muslims in UK military.

5. UK military becomes even less attractive career choice for UK muslims.

6. Our insecurity services are doing a good job, 1st MI5 Midlands branch case.

7. No need for complex, messy, fabrication of bomb evidence. Plots can be "rolled out" quickly in time of political need.

8. Computer based "forensics" will be main body of evidence.

9. Al Q link to beheadings in Iraq, reinforces international Al Q threat.

10. We now face a new terror threat of kidnapping, torture & beheading.

11. Internet distribution of video = internet restrictions ?

I consider too, that today's events might also serve as a response to the "perceived" message of Sir Richard Dannatt.

Of interest to me this afternoon was the "press conference". It wasn't a press conference, no Q & A, just a statement.

Originally scheduled for 15:00 hrs.

From the West Midlands police:

West Midlands Police wrote:At approx 4am today (Wednesday), eight people were arrested on suspicion of the commission, preparation or instigation of acts of terrorism under the Terrorism Act 2000 following raids at a number of addresses in Birmingham.

The press statement was therefore scheduled for 11 hours later.

However, from the Birmingham Post:

Maybe that might explain the delay in the West Midlands Press conference, which was delayed until just after 15:30 hrs.

So, the press statement was delayed from it's original schedule of 15:00 hrs, to just after 15:30 hours to announce the arrest of another suspect, who for some strange reason was nicked whilst driving on a motorway in the Birmingham area !

This suspect was the 9th arrested and was announced 11 hours after the first arrests were made.
