What I found fascinating about this first episode ;

1) How hollywood managed to make a hero out of a clearly derranged character - John Nash - from who's "games", based upon predertermined, and warped assumptions about the nature of human behaviour such studies drew their sick conclusions.

2) That the nature of these conclusions about the behaviour of the Human species was that we are essentially....dare I say it.... reptillian by nature.

Numerous references made to such institutions of integrety ( NOT) such as the Randi institute - We have a clue as to how these fruitcakes think in critics corner.

But then again, the people conducting the study, and subsequently making the policies for humanity are most likely basing their understanding of human nature after theirselves.

What more can I say

Adam Curtis continues his series of films explaining the origins of our contemporary, narrow and limited idea of freedom.

This episode tells the story of how, in the 1990s, politicians from both right and left tried to apply an idea of freedom modelled on the freedom of the market to all other areas of society.

Behind it was a scientific model of ourselves as simplified robots, rational calculating beings whose behavior and even feelings could be predicted by numbers. Out of this came today's systems of management - from performance targets to the new categories of mental disorder, and reading the genetic codes buried inside us.

becuase it was well over a gig and nothing was happening with it anyway
