actually what is proper nutrition?
You see if you eat a tomato grown in a poly tunnel fed on water and fertiliser having never tasted soil that tomato is basically just empty of nutrients. A pill made from Lycopene on the other hand is a very potent supplement.
you see for it to be in the food it has to be present in the soil and in many places the soils are simply overused and depleted. Many times food is not even grown in soil anymore.
another point is this, our bodies are not designed to digest certain things. There you cannot extract all the nutrients unless you juice raw vegs and fruits. Eating cooked veggies often destroys the nutrient and much passes out undigested.
So i would say in todays world we need supplements because many things are lacking in our diets even when we try.
Ofcouse supplements mean you dont go to the doctor and you dont buy medicines. Costing the big boys lost revenue.
Hence the BBC pushing us the other way.
Why does the average BBC show have people smoking, boozing and eating crud?
Surely they can make shows without indoctrinating the public. I would like them for once to make a show where people get up and take vitamins for breakfast not fags and a can of coke.
