Whats going on with the Ian Henshall news letter email list?

Its a c*** up! I've had about 15 emails in the last 20 mins. And got this message below.

This email box is subjected to security checks prior to the content being opened All and any unsafe mail or attachments are quarantined and redirected to the Police Data Protection Team

Same here. Suggest you block that address on your email (for the time being anyway) if at all possible. Seems to have solved it for me.

Somebody's got hold of the list and has set it up so everyone's complaining to each other about getting loads of emails, I've had it happen before, like a sort of chain email. I had some choice replies! "take me of your ****list". I have a spam blocker on my domain where I can blacklist individual email addresses. This is Very Useful! If you don't have that I'm not sure how you can stop it.

That's not a good idea

Nothing for six months then an avalanche.
Maybe it's making up for lost time?

S'not too bad, just hit delete a few times and wait for things to settle....

I dont know why I agreed to have it anyway its only half truths at best. These emails could be from Scotland yard or MI5 dont reply to them.

Just out of interest, The mail claims that David Ray Griffin will be in London on April 14th, anyone knows if thats for sure or not ?

I just replied rudely. I was so annoyed at the 5 [yes 5!] that sat in my inbox [who knows how they had 3 of my alternate email addreses?!?] that I didn't even read that it was from the UK - I assumed it was a US one and asked for removal.

I had been told DRG was coming to Europe on tour so i have trusted that the date is correct and posted it on events page and Calender

What a lot of fuss about holding down the shift key for a couple of seconds then hitting delete.

Ian has never used the mailman software before is all.

I spoke to him today before he left for Cairo and one of the settings on the mailman programme was set to the anti-censorship default.

That's now been allegedly sorted.

Yes, a real mess. The major mistake was that people replying to ask to be removed were forwarded to everyone on this list!

For some reason my work address was on the list and some twat decided to answer "take me off your f*cking list" every five minutes - every single one of those got sent to human resources department as every email with a swear word does at my work place.

Was not pleasant being called down there this afternoon and to who ever though it is hilarious to use swear words in an email being sent to hundreds of people -

F*ck off.

I was not impressed.

No, a minor c*** up which was quickly sorted out.

On a more helpful point the list must not strip out the poster's email address. As it stands it is...

1. impossible to identify the effing culprit and
2. impossible to unsubscribe the person in question and... way more importantly
2. impossible to reply to a message except to the entire list

Just a little tweaking needed.

What have 9/11 books got to do with anything??? I'm not "dissing" Ian Henshall, I've every respect for him as he knows, I am just saying this group email fiasco was a real mess that caused me a lot of inconvenience...

Apologies for this.

Explanation, as Tony says, is that it appears that one setting was incorrectly set that allowed any recipient on the list to email back to the whole of the rest of the list. A c***-up yes. A conspiracy, no. 20 unwanted emails in your inbox before it was blocked and intercepted unfortunate but hardly the end of the world

Ian H explained to the technical support of the ISP what was required very carefully. It appears he was either incorrectly or insufficiently advised or failed to correctly follow the advice. Either way it is sorted now. It won't be repeated. All emails will (as the first one should have had) an automatic unsubscribe link.

For clarification, this is an occasional (once every 2 weeks or so) short email bulletin on updates relating to www.reinvestigate911.org and snippets of 9/11 news.
